How to Properly Prune a Pothos 🪴✂️

(If you want to avoid having a naked top)

🪴 Pick 1-3 longer vines and find where they meet the soil

🪴 Cut each vine 1-2 (maybeeee 3) nodes from the soil line

🪴This step is optional, but if you’d like, you can propagate those cuttings

🪴 Repeat this process every 3-4 months and you’ll have a nice, full center!

We’re in the middle of propagating some cuttings right now - make sure you follow along to see how to transfer cuttings over to soil!

(Disclaimer: it will take another couple weeks for us to get that video out!)

Wow! People always say to prune to get a bushier plant but you’re the first person I’ve seen to explain it. 🤯

Thank you I so needed to see this. I keep winding and rewinding but the plant doesn’t thicken it just gets lankier. This method is going to be a game changer.😊

Thank u so much this is my favorite house plant and I never new it’s proper name and I have been growing mine from two cuts a neighbor gave me 7 years ago. No growth at all until I repotted it and bamed it and began talking to it each and every day. Saying hello and good night. Now it’s growing long veins I love it but I wanna ensure it’s heath. Your the first plant chick that I’ve come across that has talked about these awesome plants

This makes so much sense. I know the vine grows where you cut but never really put together to cut it closer to the soil 🤦🏽‍♀️ everyone else says chop and prop and stick it back in the pot, this seems much easier! Thank you for a different perspective and explaining it 🪴💚 As of now I'm propogating so many plants just to put them back in the mother pot. Takes up a lot of space and time.

Thank you for your information. I’m a new owner of a golden pothos and it is so thick and beautiful. Now I can keep it that way.

Thank you. This is the first time ive seen this explained. I’m a total black thumb myself. Still i keep trying. As long as it can grow without any care it has a chance 😢😊
