Jupiter: The Failed Star

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, and it's often called a "failed star." That's because Jupiter is made of the same kind of material as stars, but it's not massive enough to start fusing hydrogen into helium, which is what powers stars.

In this YouTube short, we'll explore the science behind Jupiter's failed star status. We'll talk about how Jupiter formed, why it's not massive enough to become a star.

If all the gas giants would have stayed on the inside of the orbit they might have created a binary star system and Earth would be a frozen waste land with no life.
