Fuel Rail and Injector Cover Kit

We have a 1997 Wrangler and when it gets hot it will turn over but not start. After 30 min or so it will start again. Vaper lock is a known issue with the 4.0 in Wranglers, XJs and ZJs. This is a fix to keep the heat from affecting your fuel rail and injectors.

This would've been a great time to replace the injectors. KSuspension has some really good 12 hole and 4 hole injectors that work perfectly for these Jeeps.

This is a great fix for sure. I found one other thing that helps, we installed a electronic temperature switch on our 2000 XJ.. because we found that on hot days here in FL. When you stop for a short period of time, the heat buildup under the hood even with hood vents causes the vapor locking problem. The electric fan on the thermostat will kick on and push the excess heat out and then when it cools under the hood down it shuts off. Ours is set to kick on and off at about 185. And works really well. Hope this is helpful.

I was dealing with this issue with my 97 XJ. Did the injector cover thing, hood vents, still had the problem. Finally I replaced the fuel pump module and problem went away. I think that's probably the root cause in most of these cases. When the fuel pump can't deliver enough pressure to the fuel rail, then vapor lock can take hold at a lower temperature. Before the new pump I would carry a bottle of water around, and if the thing vapor locked on me, I would drizzle a little water over the injectors and fuel rail to bring it back to life again.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😀, Wish getting to anything on my 2012 3.6L was as easy to get to anything.

Have you considered wrapping your intake tube between the filter and the terminal end into the intake? A lot of heat soak potential there sandwiched between the hood and the top of the engine.

I’m having the same issue with my 1993 YJ. I recently replaced my single hole injectors with four hole injectors. Never had a heat soak issue before, but now do. I’m about to purchase the item in this video, but want to know if it actually resolved the problem. Did it get rid of the heat soak issue?
