I Bought A Ford Raptor 2022 | Should You Buy It?

In this video I’ll share with you my experience and give some tips that worked to lower the finance rate and negotiate the market adjustment hike into products.
Buying a Raptor was not what I expected. It took 14 months. Involved 4 different trucks, one which is still on order. Dealer misinformation, financing tricks and dealer market adjustment greed. In the
end I’m happy, but Ford has some work to do if they even care what ordering a truck is like in 2022.

I just placed an order for a 24 Raptor at MSRP. Hopefully my experience wont be similar ha. I will say, at 2% you should have financed it all. You can an easily make 4-5% on most money market accounts. Hope you're still enjoying it!

In November 2021 we purchased a GEN three raptor. We live in Southern, Arizona, and I had to fly to Mobile Alabama. $89, 000 at the door then back in Arizona text title and license was about another five-ish love the truck exhaust rattles. They have fixed it once still rattles. Don’t try and run cheap gas in this truck. Forde says you can but I said you can’t.😮 coming up on two years of ownership, still watching raptor videos and love driving this truck every single time I get in it. 63 years old owned a lot of motorcycles, cars and trucks never have been able to say that . We live in the Sonoran desert, so we take it out on the trails and haul ass. The border patrol does not use Chevys or dodges out in the sticks. They are running raptors. We’ve posted a few videos of this truck. Can’t imagine someone not liking these trucks . Thanks for posting.

Called about a 2022 37 Package Raptor in LA.. asking $135K. That’s right. $50K ADM. Can’t wait until the tide turns on these greedy dealers. I get limited allocations and trying to make up some ground on specialty vehicles.. but $50K is absolute greed.

That’s amazing. I ordered mine October 9th, built May 9th and took delivery June 10th. Kinda ur pattern. Didn’t have any issues or delays besides the tailgate delete that was forced on me 🤦🏻‍♂️. I love my raptor I live in Orlando by the way! Great videos 👏

What a joke. Dealers are unbelievable lately. In the market for a truck, but going to wait out the craziness. Appreciate the video. Nice to hear peoples experiences.

I can relate but I'm going to wait. Ordered my 2022 Raptor 10/29/2021. Got conformation 10/30/2021. Dealer changed my order from a 19 to 10 in February. Ford has put me on a 45 day notification notice. They email me every 45 days that my order is still pending. Dealer told me that all Raptors for 2022 are spoken for and mine will be built as a 2023. The good news is I'm price protected and my dealer sold me this truck for MSRP as this is my forth F-150 and second Raptor they will be selling me. I will be one of the very few to pay $6000 below MSRP for a 2023 Raptor . Sometimes it pays to be patient.

Great summary. I was just at a dealership yesterday trying to negotiate on an incoming 2023 Raptor that hadn't been claimed. They are giving me almost MSRP for my less than year old Tundra TRD Pro but the dealership tried to lowball me there so the top dollar for the trade is starting to collapse. Also the interest rates are crazy right now. The best i can do at my bank is 5.99 to 7.59% depending on term limits with excellent credit. Dealer mark up/premium...they are so unwilling to even take a penny off of that it's sickening. Every other F150 on the lot was 5-6K under MSRP. The only 2 vehicle they charge the markup on is the Raptors and Shelby Mustangs. When it comes the top of line models/trims it's take it or leave it. I will try your trick on the warranty stuff cause that's where the dealerships really make their money. Thanks.

The dealership you were dealing with were quite difficult. I've never heard of a dealer not holding a sold vehicle for a few days until the weekend. To me at least, it sounds like they wanted to make the process as difficult and inconvenient as possible.

what a roller coaster. The dealership gets kick back from whoever they find to finance you. So they def made some money there as well. Greedy. Congrats on the raptor tho, looks great!

Good for you. 4K over is not bad. So far best deal I found is 10K over which I refuse to pay.

Took me one week of every day calling and searching to find a 2023 37 performance package out of my state. Being delivered to me this week.

Haven't gone thru the extent that you have but the markup thing is real. Called probably 40 dealers around the country to find 2 willing to do an order at msrp. I waited intentionally till the 23 order banks opened to place my order at the beginning to have the best chance of my order not rolling over. Thanks for sharing as I'll use the info to try and be successful on getting one. I'm expecting 8-10 months before anything shows up. I'm also in Florida and ordered an iconic silver 37. Thanks again.

Unreal what a cluster it was for some people. I ordered from my local dealer where a friend of mine works. MSRP, price protected, 2.49% for 36 months and even more impressive they honored the trade value on my 2019

Long McArthur Ford Posted [ How to complete the price protection on an ordered vehicle] I just got notification from my dealer that my Atlas Blue 2022 Raptor build was canceled and my dealer had to reorder it as a 2023 in a different color since Atlas Blue was canceled for 2023. My dealer had a meeting with the Ford district rep. The rep said that my newly ordered 2023 Rapid Red Raptor would be price protected back to the 2021 MSRP price that It was when originally ordered . That means I will be paying $74, 980 for the 2023 Raptor which has a new MSRP price of $80, 210. Thank you Ford. Hope this helps you case. Doug

Bummer that this didn’t actually have anything to do with “should you buy one”.

I want the truck as well however after purchasing a model 3 direct from Tesla I do not have the time nor desire to deal with these stealerships. They try to make money on the purchase price, the extra’s in the finance office, the crap interest rates they offer you and your trade in if you’re the kind of person who partakes in that sort of activity. I just want the truck at sticker price and maybe a $500 discount for being active duty military for 16 years.

January 2021 Ford allowed me the full purchase price of my 2018 Raptor toward a new Ford truck under the lemon law as long as it was not another Raptor. I ordered a 2021 F-150 Platinum and it came in August of 2021. September of 2021 I ordered a 35 package 2022 Raptor.for $76, 000. September of 2022 the order was canceled by Ford as it was never built. They told me I had to reorder it as a 2023 and would have to pay the order date price for the 2023 . September of 2022 I reordered it as a 2023 with the 37 package for $82, 000. January of 2023 I changed the order back to a 35 package which would have reduce the original MSRP to $79, 000. March of 2023 the 35 package truck came in without the heated steering wheel. Ford would only honer the September 2022 order price of $82, 000 for the 37 package truck that I had ordered back then. It was take it or leave it. After waiting 27 months and knowing it was still less than the current March of 2023 MSRP I took it. Every one who bought a Raptor has a story. If you are willing to wait you can buy at MSRP.

Wow. Absolutely unreal! Glad it ended up working out for you and you got the truck but what a nightmare it sounds like it was to get it.
