I have a 19 Raptor. I 100% agree that it's wonderful for long road trips.

I believe that sound you cant figure out is the Vehicle Timing Actuator. Over a short amount of time it can become defective and rattles upon cold starting especially when its severely cold outside to boot when the top end of the motor is dry. Once the oil starts moving around the Actuator. It shut right up. Hope this helps.

I love my gen 2. I’ve considered trading up to a Raptor R, but I have 86k miles on a 2019 and the gas mileage and insurance cost is a deal breaker for me. I’ve had ZERO warranty issues, just change the oil and fit new tires. Thanks for the honest review!!!

So ive got one of the highest mileage 3rd gens out there... 31, 000 miles and bought it back in sept 2021. First one sold in VA. It has caused me 0 issues and has been an amazing road trip and off road truck.

I was so torn on the Raptor vs TRX decision. I went back and forth for months. I had previously owned 2, 1st gen raptors and loved them. But the lack of a big V8 was really weighing on me. I test drove a TRX and I thought it was awesome. But I just wasn't crazy about the way the truck itself looks (the stance/presence is great though). Well, I found a new 2023 Avalanche Raptor, and just bought it without even driving it. Yes, I know...that was stupid. But I was sold on the look of the truck vs the TRX, still dumb to do that lol. Let me just say....I am IN LOVE with this V6! I love the way it revs, the way it shifts, the way the power is applied, and I really love the sound (I'm sure there's some fake stuff there, but I don't care haha)! I am just so surprised by this engine. I was so disappointed at the lack of a V8 option on the Raptor aside from spending 160k for the R. It almost kept me from buying this amazing truck. All of that worry and back and forth....for nothing. The Ecoboost is sweet.

This may have been covered (too many comments to sift through) but Ford worked with Nissan for the exhaust and it does come from a GTR. So good catch! Lol

I have a gen 3 since September 2021, already have 35k miles on it.
I also had the same issues with the battery and found the truck dead in the morning.
The problem is the truck gets a software update randomly and it drains the battery. It just needed a jump and the battery charged and it’s been good ever since, it didn’t needed a new battery. Besides that no issues at all

For $85K bucks US Ford Raptor equals 2 brand new PH Ford Raptors in Gray & White colors! That's more aFordable for me & my wife. We each have a Raptor to drive with. Thanks for showing man.

It might be exhaust rattle, which is a known issue on Gen3. I believe the dealer should know about it. Clunking sound is probably your shock. Also, a known issue on Gen3. Many people got their back shocks replaced.

Speaking of Mike, you should go back to his farm with the danger ranger and jump it

One of the most common symptoms of the 3.5L Ecoboost engine cam phaser problem is the notorious cold start rattle - LPT: before buying a used v6 eco? make sure you hear it start on a cold day, ymmv which fix ford/dealer actually works - the noise/problem usually starts between 30k and 45k miles.
