Storm Proof Bracing

Back in 2012 we had wind rip a 16' tall wall away from the braces at the cleats. We showed up and it was leaning on the neighbors house. I had even gone back after work to add bracing after work.
.
Nails don't hold cleats down to wet OSB. When you factor in the strength of these @strongtie SDWS TIMBER Screws, the ease of removing and reusing the wood and screws, this is more efficient and stronger. #framersareadyingbreed #huberpartner #framer #makitatools #KeenUtility

I live in one of the windiest places in the country and use a nail gun to fasten braces.

Nails are faster in the round trip only if you are using smooth shanks. Anything else and youl spend more time or waste more wood removing the nail.

This isn't storm proof bracing because it comes down once the gables are set and is no longer there when the house is framed. This is wall bracing.

Eyeballs, 1x4 block on the floor, one green treated 2x2 for bracing, few 8d nails, all you will ever need to brace walls

Time to come up with better building.. thus glued together sawdust construction kills thousands a year when a little hurricane tornado flood earthquake passes by..
Just use the 2500 year old gift ancient Rome brought here with Amerigo Vespucci:500 years ago, Reinforce concrete! Arched windows for strength, build high away from flood zone etc..
