Could you explain the Lord's prayer? Well, the Lord's prayer, or the our father, is the central prayer of the christian faith is how Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, and we see it in Matthew six and Luke eleven. But this prayer serves as a great model because it has five components to it. The first is that we bring our reverence to God.
That's why it begins, our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Second, it brings this idea of submission where we submit to the Lord. He says, your kingdom come, you will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
So, God, it's not about me, it's all about you. Thirdly, it's requests. Give us this day our daily bread.
So what daily needs do you have? Small and big? Bring your requests to the Lord. Fourth, we see this need to have a healthy heart, healthy soul, and healthy relationships. And that's why Jesus taught them.
He said, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And then fifthly, we see this prayer for protection. He says, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
