What Utah needs to do … well simply stop being greedy with the taxes and fees and make it more financially appealing to register the equipment here.

Property taxes have gone way up, Herbert made sure we were paying sales tax on all internet purchases, and still it's not enough for Utah. They want to increase gas tax, this tax, that tax. I don't blame the trucking companies. Tired of the government wanting more and more.

This is a joke. It doesn’t take higher education to figure out that over regulation will suffocate any industry, wether it be energy, or commerce. The gross incompetence from our elected representatives is becoming appalling.

Poor Mr Alan, his money must grow on trees

Just another piece of evidence that registration fees are money gauging! If you disagree then please explain how we ALL OF A SUDDEN don’t need safety inspections anymore and only emissions in Utah? We collected millions before in fees from everyone and all of a sudden it won’t matter that your lights don’t work? It seems all very arbitrary to me.

Good for them, they’re saving a lot of money. Maybe Utah should adopt Idaho’s laws. Until then it’s Utah’s loss

Next to NY and CA Utah is the highest tax state in the nation. Trailer license in Utah are 50.00 each year, Idaho charges 50.00 one time fee. No brainer, Utah is taxing their citizens and businesses to death.

The trailer in the thumbnail is a Staker Parsons owned trailer which is originally a Utah company but was bought out by a global construction company which also owns several massive construction companies in Idaho. They also have a lot of trucks operating here in Idaho with Utah plates including pickup trucks.

Also it depends on where these truckers drop there trailers and pick up a new one. Which is what happens all the time. Also people are fed up with being taxed to death and go to other states to register there cars.

Why do we have to register our cars every year? It's just a money grab on top of gas taxes.

Perfeclty legal. Also don't be greedy with taxes, companies will do anything to turn a profit to buy more trucks trailers or pay for drivers. If you want them to register in your state then change your laws to be more attractive.

It's cheaper for the companies especially in states like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky.
