Great job as usual. I don’t really like using french cleats because if we lose gravity, the cabinet will separate from the cleat and float to the ceiling.

One way I've found to speed up the flute sanding is to buy a dowel rod that fits the flute and wrap it with sandpaper. Even if you just make the rod about 6 inches this saves a load of time.

This is actually a great proof of concept for anyone who wants to make something cool-looking but isn't necessarily feeling that artistic/creative spark. Pick something super simple (like in this case literally just a straight line), repeat it a BUNCH of times, and you'll wind up with a pattern that looks like it took heaps of skill, when in fact it really just took a heap of time and patience. If you approach it the right way it can also be an amazing form of meditation/flow, especially once you streamline your workflow and really get in the groove (heh).

Kumiko is another perfect example - instead of creating 1x Art all at once, you can use a simple jig to make 2000x Little Bits of Wood one at a time, and then assemble them into something greater than the sum of its parts.

Absolutely awesome and exactly the look I'm after for my own built-in vanity. Only thing I'd change: have the horizontal drawer reveals located not on the hills but in the valley of the flutes, for an even cleaner look. I'm in love with those Blum Movento slides. Hint for the furniture hackers out there: Ikea uses exactly those Movento Tip-Ons for their Exceptionell slides in the Method carcasses.

I was watching you sand all those flutes and thought, what a great application for a Festool LS120.

I like the look as a whole, but I would'a definitely gone with cutting the drawer fronts either in the grooves or left a gap in the grooves to make the high parts wider where you wanted to split them. End result is fine, but when it gets that thin, the slight inaccuracies and grain shifts are really really noticeable.

fantastic mobile, technically perfect, and a remarkable video, I watched it from beginning to end without being able to turn it off, thank you for sharing this wonderful moment

absolutely love this one. the added texture will give a stunning element of dimension that was well worth the tediousness of the build. you'll have to let us see the completed bathroom. outstanding job to the wife on the design

I love it. I kinda wish the drawer divisions were in the "flute" so they would vanish in the shadow line, but otherwise, it's pretty cool.

GORGEOUS. And because she’ll be the one deciding who’s going to dust and remove soap, toothpaste and dust from each and every groove. I love it! The beautiful piece of furniture, that is!

For some reason your videos are relaxing and the sanding is the best😊

Good point on drawer face screw placement. When you started routing that slab out I knew those were going to be placed precisely. Dope vanity cab construction and design dude.
