If you have an i9 9900k it is not necessary to update as long as the games are above 60FPS, better to wait for a new generation.

That is why everybody said, don't buy intel. Even a ryzen 7 5800 X 3D is faster, than the 9900K and it can be used in the same AM4 MOBO. ;)
