Today we're going to take a look at the greatest shell prompt ever made, promptless created by dylanaraps and is by far the quickest shell prompt in existence, it's available for zsh, bash and any other terminal that supports PS1 prompts and it's without the best piece of software you could ever install.

I did not realize it was an April fool's joke because I only just learned that you could install terminal emulator prompts, and keeping with the idea of minimalism, like an Arch Linux base system with only necessary software packages, I did not think it was the craziest idea to have a prompt that was also minimalist lol

Before I watched your video I went on the github page and had a look at the source code and got really confused thinking "what the hell is Brodie smoking". Then I remembered its April fools, good one :).


But there is a lesson to be learned here, always have a look at the source code. Don't run code blindly.

Actually this prompt isn't to bad. I use "PS1='>'" in my .bashrc . In the rare case that I forget in which directory I am I just run "pwd".
