Before someone mentions it, I'll start working on the AUR package soon, it kind of just slipped past me. Anyway today we're going to be taking a look at the most customizable way to handle desktop notifications on Linux and that is by simply cataloguing them as text strings so that you can design a way to handle them yourself, whether that be making your own interface, sending push notifications to you phone or even emailing yourself. When you handle notifications in a more unix like way you're only limited by your creativity.

replacement id and notification action are actually also features of dunst. You will just need to use the command `dunstify` instead of the notify send command.
To specify an action you will need to use the -A flag. This is what is triggered when you click on your notification or press the shortcut you assigned in your config. I for example use this to have it so when I click on my notification that I have taken a screenshot to open that screenshot in gimp.
The replacement id is specified with the -r flag. If a notification is sent with the same replacement id as one that already exists it will be replaced by the new one. I use this for example for my brightness and volume change notifications where I only ever have one noitification on the screen and when I mash the button it doesn't suddenly spam a bunch of similar notifications

I think the point of the replaces ID is to tell the notification daemon that a notification is intended to replace of supersede a previous notification, so that the previous notification can be hidden or deleted. Just a guess, and I doubt it is very often

Hey just a suggestion, sometimes your camera screen is over the terminal and it's not possible to see what's going on. Maybe cleaning or centralizing the current command line would help. Great videos anyway.
