She would later pass away just 23 days after this was uploaded... Rest in Awesome, Esther.

The "I don't really want to tell Hank I love him so I must grab all my hair in both hands to summon the courage" puff (3:14) is my favorite John puff.

It's hard to tell my platonic male friends that I love them, as society expects that when a girl tells a boy (that is not of familial relation) she loves them, she means it in a romantic sense.
Which is stupid.

My first kiss was a really, really awkward freedom kiss.

It used to be really hard for me to tell my older cousin that I love him, but then he almost died in a car accident. Now we say "I love you" before and after we see each other. When we started doing that, I stopped feeling weird about telling family I loved them, although I still remember that awkward feeling.

Holy crap this is kind of surreal. I'm just catching up on Vlogbrothers and happen to watch this video on Esther Day. Happy Esther Day, everyone!
I'm a pretty emotional person, so the only reason I don't say "I love you" to someone is because I don't want to weird them out by being too lovey. I guess I haven't told my brother that I love him in awhile, so in honor of Esther Day, I will tell him.

Thank you Esther for leaving such an impactful legacy.

Came to this one because my beloved youngest child asked what video Vlog Brothers made on the day he was born. This is actually one day off — he shares a birthday with Esther, and that fills me with joy.

This video, and the overall Esther Day thing, helped me go back to telling my mother I love her after several years of never saying it.

Happy Esther Day. I remember when this video first came out, seeing it again in 2023 felt so familiar. Thank you Esther for reminding me to say I Love You to those in my life

Happy Birthday Esther!!!

I find it hardest to say "I love you" to my friends who are girls. I'm gay and it's very difficult to explain, "No, I'm not coming on to you and no, I don't want to date you, (but it's not that you're not attractive!) I just find you to be one of the most influential and positive beings in my life and I don't know what I'd do with myself if you weren't around." There's just so much connotation loaded in the "I love you" statement--it truly makes things difficult.

Happy Esther Day everyone! Tell you family, friends, pets and other people you love platonically and importantly that you love them.
Rest in Awesome, Esther. Your Star won’t go out.

2023 💚 and you are finally REALLY good at telling Hank you love him without squirming around. I'm proud of you

I've been watching the vogbrothers videos from the beginning again. This is the first time John says he loves Hank. 3 and a half years after starting brotherhood 2.0. He finally said it!! I love you both.

RIA Esther... RIA... You were such an astounding human being, but sadly cancer struck you down... And you never got a life... It's heartbreaking that you never fully got to live your life, but you inspired so many others to do what you are now currently unable to do physically. But in your spirit, hopefully we, the Nerdfighters, can make you proud. Hopefully we can do what you set out to do originally. Thank you Esther, for opening our eyes to the world, and to one another. I know that you can now never read this in your life, but I have a sense that you are watching over all of us currently, so you can see this as I'm writing it... And I just want to thank you for being a beautiful bright light in a tunnel of darkness. You never did FTBA <3

I tell my brother I love him whenever we say goodbye on the phone. And that was before his accident this year, though I still do now. My roommate freshman year looked at me funny when I got off the phone after saying it and I said "What?" and she said. "You just told your brother you love him." "And?" "it was weird."

I've never seen it as such, and neither has he...which I find weird that others think it is.
