If you're looking for culture, great food and beaches right in the city, this is a great place to start. Colombia is a wonderful country I am from the United States have been living here for the last six years. Currently Living in Medellin So I recommend that city to you another beautiful place is what they call the White city of Colombia (Popayan) The seven colors of the ocean in San Andreas Island (The currency is Colombian pesos and most the natives Can speak English on the island I highly Recommend the island. Another is Santa Marta there’s different spots where the ocean is more clean and there’s parts where the water has more of a coal in it so you’ll have to look and see if that’s an area you’d want to go the list can go on

Alina, very nice. The first time I was in Cartagena about 20 years ago, stayed in the Hilton hotel which was outstanding. I was surprised by hospitality of the people, also felt quite safe over there. A lot changed since then, the city expanded over the north coast, the airport is at least 2x larger and they paved the road to it .. :)))) ... but the old town is the same, it feels like being in some different world and culture, it is hard to describe.
There is also nice view from the top of the main fortress.
