Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into your body issues. It's free and very enlightening.

Dr. Berg talks about higher levels of uric acid and uric acid stones. Because ketones are acidic and release more nitrogen as well as certain parts of your body needing glucose, more nitrogen is released. When your body makes glucose out of dietary protein and fat, this is called gluconeogensis. To the pathway to release this excess nitrogen is urea, in which you could end up with higher levels of uric acid crystals (gout). If your urine is too acid, it will be more difficult to dissolve these crystals. Higher insulin levels usually make higher levels of uric acid and gout, but the ketogenic diet can also do this...IF you do not consume enough potassium foods.
Normally, kidney stones are made from oxalates (90%), but on a ketogenic diet, you will have more uric acid stones (50% of the time).

RECOMMENDATION
1. Keeping your potassium high (vegetables).
2. Take potassium citrate
3. Lemon juice (because its citrates).
4. Sea salt (on a keto diet you need 1 tsp per day. If you are doing a high carb diet, you need 1/4th of a tsp.
5. Take vitamin K2 if you have a tendency of getting kidney stones as a K2 deficiency is a major cause of kidney stones.

In this video we are going to talk about ketosis, acids and stones. When you do a ketogenic diet, ketones are more acid so you are going to be releasing more acid to the body and you are going to be releasing something called nitrogen. A little bit more than you would if you are weren’t in a ketogenic diet. But because certain parts of the body or certain parts of the brain needs a little bit more of sugar, your body are also making a little bit of sugar from your dietary protein and dietary fat so it can make its own sugar, it is called gluconeogenesis.

I use a lime with my apple cider vinegar drink in the morning. Limes are also a good source of citrates, it has a slightly higher amount than lemons.

I did a keto diet for six months, as a result, I have high uric acid, and both my kidneys contain multiple kidney stones. Do not eat high protein, and too much fat without checking your Uric acid, and cholestrol!!

Ive been working with a functional Dr and was on a diet very similar to Keto(no dairy, sugar, nightshades, grain, beans) and I ended up in the ER with a Kidney Stone for the first time ever, Wow was it painful! Seems there is so much varying info out there from Dr to Dr on how to deal with them. I am doing the Lemon in my water and have used Chanca Piedra. I also added some cheese in since on my diet I had 0 dairy whatsoever.

Dehydration!! I have never drunk enough water and when I fast, my body has become even more acidic. As a result, I now have gout attacks on my fingers. I started drinking a lot of water and now I feel much healthier.

No need to hurt yourself with keto. It is just a matter of calories in, calories out. Following a structured and balanced diet like the Agoge diet helps a great deal though.

02:45 But the intake of potassium citrate must be closely controlled through blood analysis. Too much of it can lead to heart arrhythmia.
