I like the music idea. 3 of my favorite teachers used that technique and it worked well; my economics teacher would even play the xfiles theme on the day of the test.

I love that you included "Another Brink in the Wall, Part 2". I use that song as a teacher pick-me-up (of course, I'm also the kind of person that considers the "Unhelpful Teacher" meme a professional development tool).
You give a lot of great of advice, but I would love to see you modelling it. What exactly do you do to facilitate discourse? How does a teacher as facilitator look and act during class? You know, ye olde show not tell.
BTW, have you considered doing seminars?

P3) So once the information is taught (text) plus the method (I have been in so many science & maths courses where they never give you the METHOD(!!!) - its like me building a wall with out setting down the foundations or putting up the scaffolding) - if they have this & empathy with each other & reason / logic are the tools; the end point is problem solving without the Books; I do believe "the art of life" as stoics called it is constant learning but not always with a book in hand = application

Excellent video; Great ethos for teaching.

I often say that cities are "producers" of citizens - i.e the ethos of Culture be it western culture to produce more western rationalist culture or Japanese cities for producing more people with Japanese cultural ethos etc. The school / tutor thus is the "ship" that conveys knowledge to the potential cultural nation i.e future generations are going to adopt what they want & disregard what they don't due how apt to use it is for them.

P2) Trade based Jargon especially economic language was never intended to convey knowledge outside that group no it was designed to be a barrier to understanding; we are as you said in your video we are all human beings & fellow citizens - hierarchy is the most anti-patriotic anti-human anti-social concept that has ever been created - we must develop logic, reason & empathy - empathy does not always mean pity or sympathy which is often the root of disrespect but it does mean understanding.

Well, I do not buy it all, but it is interesting. I "My Jammed" You! I dunno, maybe someone will learn something from you! (That is what you want, right? I hope so.) Anyhow, take care.
