I really respect the work this women and her team do for society because it gives us a better system of thinking and learning that is necessary for the modern world and coming generations. Truly these people are awesome for what they do and I'm thankful.

As a grown man, who has been terrified of failure, feeling you're not smart enough to take on challenges, not good enough to succeed at something, it's debilitating.

It almost makes me cry. Like finding out what been holding you back so long.

Thank you teacher Carol Dweck for research and introducing the concept of growth mindset .
Before getting to know about this new information, i was so anxious about how about i going to boost my career and learning . As i was a good student in school as i was accelerating to high school and college . I was not performing well, i used to curse myself that i am not intelligent as others and so i got depressed.
But thank you again as i started my university i watched your video ok Khan Academy channel which relieved me from the bad things that i used to imagine for myself like as i can not get success as other intelligent people are
Getting but now with growth mindset, I make failure my one of the biggest ally to progress further and try to achieve that goal.
I am blessed to watch this video as this provides me strength to fight with difficult situations in every aspect of life.

The first psychologist who created the Theory of Mindset was Dimitri Uznadze, one of the greatest Georgian scientists. Carol Dweck's theory is further development of Uznadze's theory of mindset. Very very impressive!

Fascinating; Prof. Dweck has assembled a vast amount of EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE to support a revolutionary theory in education/psychology, one that I (and my late mom, who was a full time professional teacher) have always endorsed; namely, that if the student has a GROWTH MINDSET vs a FIXED MINDSET, that student, independent of IQ or SES, will achieve better than peers, controlling for all other factors. Up to now, conventionally, we've explained student success as around 50% IQ and 50% SES; this research really debunks that.

Speaking for myself, who admittedly had good IQ and good SES, I nonetheless have always had a GROWTH MINDSET to learning; I've always been a lifelong learning, constantly reading, evolving and listening to others. The advent of the internet has only accelerated this trend.

While most use the internet to reinforce their prejudices and beliefs (Fixed Mindset) many use it to enlarge their view of the world, and to explore new horizons (Growth Mindset).

Congrats, Dr. Dweck--Kudoes!

On a different note, I like her style of speaking. How can I speak like her?
