Son...yes, this is Shane's dad, you should be very proud of what you have created here! This is more than just educational videos, you have changed lives with the compassionate understanding of your subject matter, and your gift of being able to make complex situations understandable to people. What you've done here is much more than just Surgical Tech Tips. Shane, you've created a legacy that will live on for future generations of CST's, FA's and more medical professionals than you realize. Andrea's comment earlier is also a testimonial as well for patients going through medical procedures themselves who are searching for a better understanding, comfort, and peace of mind during anxious and unnerving times before undergoing procedures themselves...WOW! ♥️

Hi. It's 8/31/2023. I have really wanted your videos. Because they are very very good. I'm not a tech. In the morning I will be getting L5-S1 fusion and decompression. I'm 69 and this will be my 18th surgery. I just went to say I wish you were the tech tomorrow. You are amazing. Much success in you new journey.

You have a gift with explaining difficult subjects that only OR techs would be interested in. Wish you the BEST friend!

I remember I found this channel about 5 years ago when I was recovering from my 3rd knee surgery. I binged watched all your videos while on bed rest. Made me rethink my career path. Currently about to finish out my time in the army and begin my journey to become a surgical technician. Thanks for the update and glad you found a new rhythm

Absolutely, please continue making videos. Your contribution is so welcomed. If you can improve preference cards, that would be a miracle onto itself.

As a medical device engineer, I keep returning to your channel for insights on usability of technology in the OR. Thank you for all the great content you have shared over the years, and best of luck with your new career!

Your channel was *instrumental* in my ST journey-from deciding whether or not it was for me (after viewing a few of your videos, my answer was a resounding “yes”!) to using the rest of your videos as a supplement during school, as well as after. I will be eternally grateful for the content you put out. I look forward to hearing about your newest endeavor (the importance of a good preference card is critical!!!) and have no doubt you’ll be successful.
Thank you for updating us on your career change, and I wish you all the best!

Haha, I'm in CST school now at Concorde Career College. We use Incisions for our term. I've emailed them for the captions on the videos so I can write down notes. Plus, having sound and captions helps me way more. Congrats on making a move that makes you and your family happy. I'm 48 working full time at my 27 yr old job and making myself happy now. I've never been an academic type of person and now that I'm mature it's different. Although it's hard I would rather have this hard than the life I led before. As a single mom of 3, I've always been challenged. I choose this hard for me. So good for you!! We watch some of your videos in class for lectures. Thank you for the great content you have given us. I wish you and your family the best! Happy holidays.

Thank you for doing all those videos in your past. I was getting major anxiety waiting for T5-L5 fusion with 20% chance of death due to blood loss. I found your channel on my sleepless nights. Your clear & simple explanations of many of the roles and procedures in the OR (OR prep, instrument prep & cleaning, and patient positioning) helped me prepare mentally for the day. I'm now 13 days post-op, and had sutures out this morning. There were complications turning an expected 8 hours turned into 13 due to complications. Knowing that people in the OR were gonna be like you with the utmost professionalism and care, I was able to put my life in their hands. These should be required watching for pre-surgical patients. Thank you so much. Best of luck with your new adventure. That twinkle in your eye makes me think you'll rock it!

Kudos to you!!! I wish you the best on your new journey!
Thank you for teaching and sharing your wealth of knowledge in the OR.
I understand the evolution of change. When the light starts to burn out, you know it’s time to make a change.
In my mid 50’s, I became a Surg Tech after working in a career for 30 years. It’s been 10 years now and I’m ready to evolve again!
Keep us posted! May you continue to evolve and prosper! Most of all, enjoy your family….!

That's awesome! I am very proud of you for making a career change and trying something new! I just watched your suture video on the way to my clinicals this morning! I did a career change of 10 years working for Wegmans (grocery store if you don't know), and now I'm in school for surgical technology and love every minute so far!

Good for you hun! Irecently left the hospital full time myself, I stayed PRN as a tech but after finishing my bachelors degree in health science I wanted to make a change in my career and I am now teaching the next generation of surgical techs as an instructor at a local college… making a change to better my family and also to help get my physical and mental health back has been a breath of fresh air

Sometimes a big change is just what a person needs to feed their soul. I'm an RN new to the OR & my nurse educator has me watching a lot of your videos. I wish you much luck & happiness in your new endeavor!

I’m also a scrub tech in Northern California. Been scrubbing for 5 years and not to toot my own horn, I’m the goat. General, ortho, GYN, ENT, endoscopy, vascular, plastics, trauma. Love my career and will be involved with the OR for the rest of my life. However, I have a wife and child. Miss the time I spend with them because of the call situation. If you have any positions in something similar or a company you know of, I can leave you my email. I’m 28 years old. Very detail oriented. Very motivated. Love what you do and love what you are about.

Welcome back! Started watching your channel when I was in scrub school, now a CST going to nursing school to become an RNFA. Your channel is really an asset to students and new scrubs. Yes to videos about Incision and any apps! Best of luck!

Sir I am so happy you're back. I watched all of your videos. I am just fascinated at what you do. I do not work in the medical field but I find your videos so enlightening. We really missed you. Thank you so much for coming back. Good luck on your new venture and don't be a stranger.

What an awesome comment from your dad! I agree, you have no idea how many people you have helped in the field including me who left the field for 25 years and came back successfully! Even here, I have hope because heck, I’m getting old and being a CST is a super physically demanding position and I’ll have to leave it again eventually! Staying surgical adjacent while appealing to your “nerdy” tech side/computer programming knowledge is a win for many! Warmest wishes to you, best of luck and I’d love to see any videos you happen to make!
