I would never let my kids touch a school if I ever moved to the US. This is ridiculous.

It is a very strange problem the us has. I mean there are countries in Europe where you can own a literal RPG yet despite having more freedom to own guns they don't have constant mass shootings

There's no problem. It's just that US, and a majority of citizens don't want to ban "freedom."

What is wrong with this planet? Why can't we live as one? How much further do we have to go until we all realize we're different and that's what makes us great.

I just want to remind Americans that you carry guns because you feel UNSAFE by criminal violence. They should put more police effort on that and people would feel safer and stop being obsessed with guns and violence. Society will become more peaceful.

Boy calling it a problem is real understatement!

The US has a culture of fear and a culture that values violence. There are a lot of frustrated people who cannot cope with their emotions or cannot find healthy solutions to their internal issues. Mix that with the culture and an easy access to weaponry to take out your resentment to the world and you've got this mess.
Normalize safety without arming yourself. Make guns difficult to purchase. Normalize expressing your feelings and getting therapy and seeking help from professionals instead of online outlets. Invest in school/community resources that help kids find their interests and feel accepted.

Till we just forget their names in the media and ONLY talk about the victims names, we'll always have people trying to out do each others disrespect for others lives.

Guys I’m a strong conservative but this whole gun and children situation gets me really going, it’s a damn shame instead of doing something about guns we instead equipe schools with gun protected doors and walls and even have kids doing school shooting drills. Our leaders in office are not fixing the problem rather patching it. It embarrasses me calling myself an American.

I think it’s mental health bullying etc.. If anything I don’t understand why we are arming teachers and staff at schools and improving the terrible mental health services in the US and nipping this in the bud.

You really don’t explain the issue. You were closer to explaining it when the one expert talked about people being “grievance collectors.” People in this country are fed daily a litany of hate. My union tells me to hate my job and my employer. People tell each other to hate the rich and celebrities. Both political parties tell their constituents to hate and distrust the other party. I can go on and on. We are told to hate corporations and government. We are told to hate ourselves!

Joe said it best;

Nearly all shootings involve firearms

In the Netherlands we have persons with mental health problems. But we have no guns!
Do we feel unsafe?
Why should we if nobody has a gun?

It should take years of background checks and mental health evaluations for anyone to be able to own certain types of guns (semi-auto rifles). The fact that anyone can buy a gun in some states, is insane to me. That has to be harder, and require more due diligence.

i think there is a huge mental health problem that goes unanswered and unquestioned because taking away the guns from the people is easier to do...

"Firearms are a tool, but also a deadly weapon." There's part of the problem right there. Firearms are deadly weapon, period.

The U.S have played a major role in undermining the stability of foreign governments. The Arab Spring is a classic example of this clandestine operation, can we come to the realization that the U.S is on the verge of experiencing its own American Spring as its citizens rise up against each other and a corrupt/inept political system. Stay tuned the worst is yet to come given the current trends.
