As an Aussie who has toured the USA five times, I have got to say that so many Americans have a seige mentality about their lives in America.

Certain entities have worked very hard to bring us our current gun culture. They have profited handsomely. They will not go away, easily.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

I never thought I would see a day when TPing a house could be a death sentence, let alone knocking on the wrong door.

I haven't seen ANY remorse from the shooters, either!! I just hope I can steer clear of these BEASTS.

Some gun owners fantasise every day about the moment they get to use their beloved gun on another person, it doesn’t really matter if that person is doing anything wrong.

Well said, Senator Chris Murphy. Why are PEOPLE using violence so casually?

I am a home health hospice nurse and work evenings/nights. I am CONSTANTLY getting lost, driving up the wrong driveway, cant see house numbers so have to walk up yards and porches, ring the wrong doorbell, etc. How are we going to keep our home health nurses safe?!?

Used to come for holidays and to visit the beautiful green parks. I have canceled for the last couple of years because I am honestly afraid of a kid going around playing with a gun and shooting. It is insanity...

It sounds like people are too scared to go outside, so they stay indoors watching TV telling them that it's to scary to go outside. A type catch 22 situation.

I'm still baffled that Americans don't realize that this only happens in America. Seems like it's just "Normal" for Americans

Trigger retribution not justice. When I was young when we shouted ar someone in anger we said we were spitting bullets. That is no longer metaphorical.

My husband married an African American - he is not African American. When my step sons visited with us in Toronto I asked them about how different they find Toronto as compared to the US. They are quite light skinned African American boys - tall and athletic. They both shared with me that they can walk around the city or go into stores and no-one gives them a second look - they felt safe. As a white European, it took my breath away. I have no ability to integrate into my own thinking and life experience how it must be to live with overt profiling all the time.
