Great info man. I do toss arigs on a flip'n stick at times and they can exceed the recommended lure size.

Thanks so much for this video.  When I started back up in fishing, I of course went to Academy and purchased some Zebco rod and reel combo's to cover pretty much every thing for the amateur with 10-15 pound test in case you snag a big catfish.  So over time, I did purchase a Deeper and upgraded my fishing equipment.  Like you said match it to the rod.  Well, I match my Deeper to  the old and cheap, but heavy rods to the  Zebo gear for big catfish for bank fishing.   It works out great.  After all, at this point it is just being used as a part of a  fish finder.  It is just another way not to discard old equipment.  Thanks again.

Basically, if you're going to walk the bank and throw Hudds all day, carry the right rod. But if you want to carry something that's just heavier (whopper plopper 130, mid size swimbait or BBZ rat).

If one uses braid do not use straight braid...use braid to leader. Then use a mono leader. The only time I would use straight braid is fishing heavy cover(frogging/punching ect)
If you are using braid and no leader and having trouble...the leader is the whole key to making it work. The mono is the shock absorber. I throw the 8-10" huds using braid to leader and even thrown a Deeper...no troubles

Yea I finally got an slx heavy rod 1.5 oz rating. And I was hoping I'd be able to get away throwing my Garmin Striker Cast on it.

Nice informative video, thank you for this.
I've just bought an XH mod fast 10'6 blank, 30-60 line rating and 1-8oz lure
Just want to know if it could cast a 1oz lure perfectly?

As always you are very informative! Great info! Did you do a review vid on the deeper? I'm considering getting one. If i do I already know it will be on my heavy rod with 20lb mono but what knot is going to be my other question to hold the deeper good. Great video!!!!

Hello! I have an 8 feet telescopic rod with a line weight of 5 to 8kg. What's the best or maximum lure weight can it handle? Thanks! Also are you able to help me on how to cast light lures further with any types of sinker . It's because i dont have those types of weights that i can attached to my lure. Thank you!
