Well said! Just bought the 3861 Hesalite after 1 year or back and forth .. Man it's a good watch. The distortion of the hesalite, the satisfying clicky winding, the tapering bracelet to a art-deco clasp.. The watch is a warm blanket for the heart of any NASA/watch fan. Just get it. When life gets hard.. eyes on the watch ... eyes on the starts.

Never thought I'd get one considering how I don't care for chronographs. It slowly grew on me, however and boy it's a good looking watch. It'll probably be the only chronograph in my collection.

Get a bit fed up with the watch world being focused on value retention, most of us couldn't give a toss as we buy to keep not as an investment ( which imho tarnishes the hobby for genuine enthusiasts).
Arguably it's the most iconic watch ever made, of course it will keep it's value...

Your analysis is spot on. I am not an Omega guy, but I respect them (except for the moonswatch fiasco, which was just a CF of disorganization and intra-corporate politics). I am more interested in vintage and vintage-inspired seamasters and those 70s speedmasters that Guilio discussed.

Just tried a Speedmaster on wrist at my local AD. I won’t buy it because I haven’t a need for a chronograph, but I get it. It’s a well built and nice looking watch especially on wrist.

I wish outlets such as C24 would just shut up talking about investments and secondary values. Just focus on the watch and its relative merits compared to other watches. Anyways, I think most people take those C24 “values” with a massive pinch of salt
