I can wear my Omega everyday respectfully and not worry so much about a waiting list it’s still a great conversation piece it has prestige and history to back it up and also it’s available to buy new. The Speedmaster is top tier.
The Rolex Date Just is clean classy elegant with a rich history and screams “I make pretty good money”, the pro and the con of the watch and not a watch I would wear everyday but when I do wear it it’s turning heads.

Datejust goes with everything, wears small, cheaper to service (maybe). Speedy is an icon but won't fit everyone and can be a bit much on smaller wrists, bulky too. Definitely better value in the Speedy, and chrono's are cool, but who really uses it as a timer? I think Datejust is the winner.

Omega speedmaster. Never rolex. Rolex is boring. Omega can be bought without a waiting list, great daily driver, and a chronograph is super useful. Oh, and f*ck rolex' ad practices

I bought the Aqua Terra and the the mint green smooth 41 Rolex. The Aqua Terra was no comparison to my Date just. The lume was subpar, top heavy, and no Tfit on the Aqua Terra

Rolex had made itself the most recognized luxury watch brand on the market. By far. Is it the best? Probably not. But through marketing, celeb endorsements, the aire of exclusivity by limiting their availability and overpricing them. They've built their brand. If you asked anyone on the street to name a luxury watch. They will invariably answer "Rolex". So, it all comes down to what you're looking for. Recognition in the general public?...Rolex. A fine watch that YOU like?...Buy any other brand. I have an old Moonwatch and a Tag Heuer Steve McQueen. I have no desire to have everyone who sees my watch to ask..."Is it real?".
