That guy Paavo Nurmi at number 3 deserves much more respect with 9 gold medals plus 3 silver medals in middle distance, the best in tract events. Reading about the events during his time makes it even more prominent, for instance they had to run the steeple chase, 5000 metres and cross country races on sequential days !!!.
