How to Extend or Shrink Virtual Hard Disks on Hyper-V
Sometime when you virtual hard disk is running out of space, you may need to extend the size of the hard disk in hyper-v. Same goes for shrinking the hard disk storage in hyper-v.

On the right track, but didn’t finish the lesson by increasing volume through disk management on the rebooted VM after increasing the size of the drive

Hey, I am kinda in a struggle here but is there any way to fix a problem like I'm having. I don't have the Windows App Folder anymore in the C:\ Program Files and I also don't have Microsoft.Windowstore fild in the local > packages folder.

Your video explain how to extend the disk in Hyper-V, but it doesn't show how reduce the size. I have a VHD BAckup with a 700 HD windows 11 configured. only 200 gig is used I want to reduce it to 300 max

I tried out Hyper-V around almost 2 months ago (installing that dodgy SteelSeries app to test it). I use a hotspot to a realtek wifi adapter to connect my pc to the world but couldnt get hyper-v online and since I only have so much patience I gave up, uninstalled the app and forgot about it. BUT I noticed my download speeds can be as slow as 1/10th what they were before enabling hyper-v and have never returned to full speed. I created a restore point before enabling hyper-v but to my horror all my restore points in win10 are gone? (Even those I created within the last 7 days - this infuriates me - why does windows delete them? I have plenty of drive space! anyway..)

I cant tell you how many times I've had to run the Network Troubleshooter to reconnect to the world. Sometimes it resets the wifi adapter, sometimes it threatens to uninstall all network instances in which case I restart instead. But it'll happen again and again and I've been searching for info about this for nearly 2 months to no avail. I thought I was going crazy since my adapter hasnt had a driver update since 2019 (and these dongles are still being sold new here in Australia) UNTIL today when I happened upon a page from the SuperUser forum and yes, Realtek devices and winver 1804 and up have issues with hyper-v.

The most bizarre behaviour is launching the epic games launcher and playing fall guys (scoff if you must) triggers these network disconnects too. Not just the quick games disconnects you can get within Fall Guys, but I can look at my systray and see that I'm not connected. Click it? No networks. Run Troubleshooter, (50/50 if it'll be fixed this instance) Why does EGL trigger it so often? How do I fix this? The restore points from before enabling Hyper-V are gone (GRR). Simply disabling hyper-v didnt return my system to how it was before I tried it. What got changed in Networks too? Curious that I happened to open youtube for a break from all this hyper-v stress and you've posted a vid about it lol.

to really compress a hyper v client its best to defrag it, then mount is read only and then compress using powershell.
