Cats can be stubborn, especially when you actually want them to do something haha. So here are a few quick tips you can try to encourage your cat to drink more water if you think they may need it.

Excellent tips!! In 50+ years of having cats, I have found that most cats prefer 'running' water. Since I've had a water fountain, I usually have to add more water to the fountain daily!! Plus, I leave my bathroom sink water at a drip for some who prefer to drink there -- lol!! But great tips from Simon's Daddy!! Water is VERY important for the kitties!! My cat Angie never drank water. One night, she came over and started drinking iced water from my mug. I do feed her wet food though. I will try adding a little water to her food. That cat water fountain is cool.

another bonus tip is to buy a set of mugs or glass cups that are short but wide with heavy bottoms, use them exclusively as human drinking vessels for a week or so, then 'accidentally' leave a nice cold fresh one on the table for your cat every day.

One of our cats got chronic urinary crystals until we got a fountain. He hasn't had an issue since. It has been amazing.

Or, you can just leave your water glass on any given surface, and they will stick their silly little heads right in there, no matter how many bowls and fountains you put out for them! Love your channel! 🐾❤

Simon is gorgeous. I am a Siamese addict. I have bowls of water on every floor of the house for my two who do both drink quite a lot. Otherwise I would add hot water and heat the wet food up for difficult eaters. Make it lovely and stinky😂 for them.

We make "kitty soup" for one snack a day. Wet food + pumpkin + water. Keeps their tummies happy and gets that water in.

We got water fountain only to find out our cats hate running water. But we noticed they love to drink from our cups apart from their own still water supply. They now have their own cup on our dining table & they drink more from that 😂 Also, they get wet food every day & we always add water to their bowl. They still love it & lick it clean.

My cats didn't like the fountain. They're outdoor/indoor cats so I have water bowls in the house and outside. They get cleaned and refilled every other day. Always wipe the natural slime out under the water, then rinse and refill with filtered water. No need for soap. The chemicals in our drinking water aren't good for us or our cats so filter it if you can with a Britta type of filter! Also, cats need crunchy dry food too as it has different nutrients and helps keep tarter from building up on their teeth, that's my vets advice. I have crunchies always available for them to snack on.

water fountains are a great thing to have for cats!! my cats used to dip their paws into the water bowls or move the bowl around, which either ended up with litter in the bowl or water everywhere. ever since getting them both fountains i don’t have to fill it as often (since it’s bigger too) nor clean it as it often.

We have a platinum drinkwell fountain that I clean every week, they also eat only canned food. We have a small drinking fountain if we have to evacuate from a hurricane. We had a cat that couldn't tell where the water level was, so we got the fountain.

Just buy a water fountain for your cats, They will absolutely love it! Wet food also helps keep them hydrated.
