I haven't fished since I was like 15 so it's been 20 years. Thanks for posting, nice refresher.

Bro... from your video title, I legitimately thought you were going to show me how to tie a line from start to finish... All good, great video nonetheless!

Love ultra light fishing! I've got a pair of Quantum 4 1/5 foot rods you can't buy anymore that I use for trout to smallmouth bass, work great. UL Zebco from 5-7 foot and multiple fly rods. Great information for more experienced. Keep it up and you will be awesome! 👏👏 I'm already a fan.

If you want a grate trout rod I would recommend a diwa presso rod and a kast king summer reel in a 1000 size with 4pound test

Would have been a better video of you actually had examples of each rig shown that you talked about otherwise the only useful info was the fact you were using an ultra light spinning rod. Not much good for beginners, intermediates and above probably already know these things anyway

Spring through fall I kill em on night crawlers a small hook and splitshot. Winter I only use jigs and white twister tail's. All on one rod and reel too. Doesn't get much simpler than that.

Great video and hello from the north east of England 👍👍👍….

Just starting to do some lure fishing for trout and could do with some help please ….

What mainline is best ??

I.e braid etc ……

Also what strength would be best ??

I’ve got the rod, reel and lures just need some advice on the correct line and if so would I also have to use a leader line ??

Much appreciated and thanks 😁👍🎣

Great video I’m a newbie and ordered one of Okuma a lightweight spinner reels the larger size (10lb 110yd) for backpacking trout fishing can I put 4lb test so I can have more line capacity or could that mess something up?

Why do you prefer the 7 or 7 1/2 foot vs the smaller like 4'6-5'6 poles that are ultra light

why do some people recommend a very short rod for trout fishing, like under 6 feet?

You should have talked about the "A-Just-A-Bubble" float. You can add some water to this bobber to act as a weight instead of using a piece of split shot. Would allow for better casting and better nymphing; or even dry fly fishing with a spinning rod.

I recently bought an Ultralight rod and reel setup, and was talked into a 7.5 foot rod (previous medium weight rod is a 6.5 foot).

I have used it a few times and want to give myself time to get used to it, but the 7.5 foot length feels a bit awkward so far.

What is the main benefits of the longer rod?

I plan to stick with it, assuming I'll get used to it... but just wondering what the benefit of the longer rod it? Casting distance?
