Hannibal was so cheeky, always founds a way to hide a part of his army to outflank the romans, it's like that one dude who camps all the time in a ranked match but at the end, wins the round and gets the most kills

Rome after having 3 armies get absolutely rekt 3 times in a row: I didn't hear no bell!

Its crazy how "the biggest military ambush of all time" isnt Hannibals magnum opus, any other commander and that would have been their best battle

Hannibal is so good at hiding troops, that even in the video some divisions just vanished into thin air 😂

This might be the deadliest ambush in military history.

Hiding thousands of troops and catching the romans off guard is pure talent

Romans:
"How do you just hide an entire army?"
Hannibal:
"Observe"

Romans:
"Observe what? There's nothing there-"
Also Romans:
"I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING!"

Hannibal was a genius, but i personally believed that the biggest reason for this masterful ambush to succeed in the first place was because the roman commander was an incompetent, or at the very least overestimated his home field advantage. There's no way in hell Hannibal could hide that amount of force if the Romans fielded decent scouts.

Hannibal was a nightmare. Scipio was a GOAT for clashing with him

Hannibal made the Roman empire look like boy scouts allowed to adventure a bit too much.

I actually drove by Lake Trasimene when I visited Italy last month, taking the exact route the Romans took during the battle.

I'd say Hannibal's best trait was his restraint. Hannibal just absolutely refused to make a move until he knew every contingency and had confidence in the circumstances of the battle. If we can discern anything about personality from 2nd hand writings, Hannibal's behavior says he is patient, calculating, and measured.
