In this example
the two (2) notes - C & E
are separated by
3 piano keys
Three consecutive (3) half (1/2) Steps

i.e., Two (2) Whole Steps = A Major Third(3rd)?
Or
Two (2) notes/ piano keys in between I.e., separating Two (2) notes I.e., on either side I.e., immediately adjacent to
Two (2) notes = a Major Third (3rd)?
