Sun, surf, cool water, good drinks and good friends...None of these are the traits for the winter wasteland about to hit the majority of the world. Despite that, I’m sure more than a few of us are already missing summer pretty badly, wanting to feel the heat and have an excuse to go out and get a tan. And really, what else could work for summer? Well water parks of course! Wave pools and water slides are the best times for a hot summer day! However I guarantee that with these upcoming slides, youre going to want to stick to the pools.
These slides have a notorious reputation for leaving people injured, mentally stressed and in one case, even dead. So lets talk about them today. Here are ten of the most dangerous waterslides in the world.

With all that said and done, lets begin shall we?

10: The Steamer Slide.

This slightly dirty sounding slide may have a funny name, but nothing about it is funny. This is the Steamer Slide, an attraction that was located in the Calypso Water Park, Canada. Now, just how dangerous could this slide be? Its a water slide, theyre not known for their threat to regular people...Well, not this one. The Steamer Slide had its riders sit on an innertube, Slide down into a giant funnel, and then come out the other side, which sounds nice and straight forward...Unless your tube flips over mid ride. Several injuries were recorded by park goers, ranging from general bruising to more severe injuries, accumulating over 20 safety violations charges which wasnt handled well by the park. The park did not report the injuries, and even attempted to blame the safety inspector on falsely reporting that their ride was dangerous, which was false. The ride was dangerous, and it despite all these problems, its still open right now. So ride at your own risk.

9: The Black Hole.

We now move from Canada down to the States, more specificallyOrlando Florida, which as many people know already has a weird amount of things happen in it. Gators, snakes, why not add a dangerous water slide to the list? This is the Black Hole, a water slide found in the Wet n Wild Waterpark. This ride was described as a twisting ride where guests would shoot down a dark tube, often on two person floats. Despite the fun description, it didnt stop controversy and injuries coming from the slide, with one man being so injured that he actually lost all feeling in his legs. He successfully sued the park for 1.73 million dollars, with the park pleading ignorance. The plea by the park was undone due to the mans testimony as well as employees who were against the park, informing the court that often tubes would flip, people would fall off, tube collision, and a multitude of other problems that resulted in this slide shutting down for good, and rightfully so.

8: The Aqua Scoot.

Action Park...Remember that name, youre going to hear about them a few times in this list. And this ride isn’t even the worst for their messages. Enter the Aqua scoot, a ride that had a unique idea to make the slide out of warehouse rollers. Combine that with a fast stream of water, and you get a pretty lethal combo. Riders would go down on a plastic sled, (Yes I said Plastic), and the speed you would pick up would allow you to skip across the water like a stone. Big problem though, you had to sit on the sled properly or else you risk getting flung right off the thing, right into a shallow shallow pool. Riders of course fell off of the darn sled and incurred bad injuries, including a nasty head injury on one guest. Also, the employees were pretty bad as well, often not waiting for one rider to exit the ride before sending another down, resulting in crashes.

7: Cannonball Flats.

Action park once more, we missed you buddy! This time we have Cannonball Flats, a ride closed down for some pretty bad reasons. Featuring a ten foot drop into a mountain pool, it was considered the most dangerous slide in all of New Jersey. Six injuries were reported in 2015, often from park goers sliding into a shallower end, landing on other park goers, etc etc. Action park actually closed this ride down shortly after its inception, and seems to have embraced its status by selling Tshirts saying, “I survived action PArk.” Classy. Cant wait to see you all later on this list probably.

6: The Aquaspehere.

While not as notorious, the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Center has had its fair share of controversy and injuries to its name. Its largest claim to infamy is the Aquasphere, a family raft ride that promoted family togetherness...Sounds nice sure, but you also need to look at the very very high number of accidents that this ride caused.
