How did Peter Pettigrew die in Harry Potter ? In the movie, he was cursed by Dobby and that was the last time we've seen him. But in the book, when Peter went downstairs, he was tackled by Ron and Harry, Peter began to strangle Harry, but Harry reminded him that he owed him a life debt. Voldemort cursed the hand that he gave him four years ago, so when Peter hesitated and showed Harry mercy by letting him escape, the hand turned on him and proceeded to choke him leading to his death.

The hand killed him regardless of Harry and Ron's best efforts to restrain it.
Harry, while disliking Pettigrew of his cowardice and betrayal, nevertheless felt some pity for the way he had to die, and was perhaps one of the few to accept of Pettigrew's regret of his life choices.
What do you think about Peter’s last moment ?

I feel this scene really reflects on Harry and Ron's character. Harry had every reason to let him die. Peter betrayed his parents and framed Sirius, killed Cedric and several others, brought Voldemort into human form, and overall was an awful person. But nevertheless Harry and Ron tried to save him. That shows true heroism.

Voldemort's a genius. He knows full well how unloyal Peter Pettigrew is, and understands he will just serve the most powerful wizard - so Voldemort cursed the robotic hand he gave him so that if he ever defied Voldemort, he would be choked to death!

No, he didn't let Harry escape. He hesitated for a split second when Harry reminded him of sparing his life when Sirius and Lupin wanted to kill him.
That spilt second of hesitation was enough for the curse to be activated and the hand instantly started to choke him. Harry and Ron does try to help him, but they're not successful.

I guess the movie thought that would be too violent. I like to think the film version had him die when Voldemort showed up to Malfoy Manor and punished Peter for the golden trios escape and to give the Malfoys more of a scare message. It is a good way to explain why he doesn't appear in the last movie!

Considering he was sort of the main villain in the third installment, I wish he at least gave us a short scene of something to wrap him up in the movies.

Technically Peter Pettigrew didn't die in the film as he was simply stunned by Dobby. After escaping the Malfoy manor, he was never heard of again. It can be implied that Voldemort dealt with him rather severely, possibly even killing him.

What?! That’s a major difference! How was that not included?! This guy is reason Harry mom and dad are dead, Cedric died because of him and Voldemort return inflesh. I never read the books this is just shocking to me that this was left out of the movie. Like this guy isn’t some rando but a major piece in the plot.

That moment was intense from what I remember. Harry bitterly reminded him while he was being strangled. Something along the lines of
"You're going to kill me? After I saved your life? YOU OWE ME WORMTAIL!" and then Peter backs off before the same hand strangles him. Both Harry and Ron quickly try to pry the hand off his throat. Ron even tries to use a spell if I recall correctly. But it doesn't work, and Wormtail dies rather quickly.

If you think about it, makes perfect sense that he wouldn't have choked himself deliberately. It's the same as trying to bite your tongue on purpose, something else (the curse) was at work here.
