In this lecture, we will examine the Gospel of Thomas, a text that is part of the treasure trove of archaeological discoveries found at Nag Hammadi in the mid-twentieth century. This text has often been associated with Gnostic Christianity, an early strand of Christianity with some mystic/esoteric beliefs and many that would be seen as rather heretical by "orthodox" perspectives. I would like to explicate the implications of this text by analyzing and discussing it for you. Enjoy!

This text came before all the new testment text. The meaning is much more aligned with the mystical egyptian knowlege then with the texts in the new testament or with anything to do with the jewish god.

If you read the text without taking into account all the previous relegious notions, you will see clearly that jesus is talking about how god is with in everyone, you just dont see it . That everyone is the son of god, and that we are all ONE also That we create our reality through our thoughts aligned with our intentions. its clear when he says “dont do what you hate, for heaven nothing is uncovered”. This text was obviously taking our of the Bible because it give the power to the individual to realize itself as part of god, a god himself, and would take all the authority of the church away.
