I run mine into the front of my Marshall . And my modulation and time based effects to through the effects loop. This pedal is super heavy and perfect for playing any and all thrash, metal, etc

This pedal isn't all that bad, just very very finicky to dial in with certain rigs. If you run it into an amp that has a lot of filtering in the preamp stage, you will often find that the preamp filtering kind of boxes the pedal into the amp's own definitive frequency curve, and that makes it really difficult to balance the EQ on the metal zone, and you much more easily end up with a horrible sound than a usable one.
Into a flat response amp like a power amp, or when you connect it to the FX return of your amp to bypass the preamp stage completely, however - it's actually pretty easy to get a much more usable sound out of it - not the best, by any stretch, but sufficient to get by. Whether or not this was intentional, the MT-2 seems to be better as a better hi-gain preamp than as a hi-gain distortion pedal.

the reason the MT-2 is ridiculed is because teenage beginner guitars get it and dime the controls without considering properly adjusting them to taste, then just deem it shit without a second chance.

Don't put so much gain and play with the middle range

Through the right amp and lots of tone searching these pedals can produce a good tone. Trouble is it’s much easier to get a more usable pedal that sounds better in more settings. At a used price of $25 though it’s worth owning.

For the Black Sabbath, I would have turned the gain to about half or just slightly below half. 😈🤘
