I think most people want to earn money, but very few people want to be good at chess, so its not really reflective of the difficult of becoming a GM vs billionaire. I would guess that billionaire is way harder, but there are so many more people trying to be billionaires than be GMs

I don't think anyone can become a GM, but I do think that anyone that has the money and the time to dedicate 30 ~ 50 years just studying and playing chess has a big chance of become a GM.

The number of people who want to be a grandmaster/billionaire and have a realistic hope of doing so.

Being a GM requires lots of talent, dedication, and time. Being an IM like Eric who also dedicated his time to the world is best.

I was born human and over time learned to become a panda with great difficulty. Still easier than chess.

It's easier to become a grandmaster after you become a panda, since you've already mastered black and white.

I think if you have parents who are 2000 to 2200 Elo or higher who help train you early on and you have a good coach later in life you can definitely be a GM it’s a pattern I keep seeing so I would say yes anyone who has a good foundation can be a GM
