What Does Backslider Really Mean?

This is true. I was brought up in church but always struggled, I never denied my faith, but im guilty of depriving my faith for the world, and my own selfish desires. I was 16 when I finally (on my own) decided to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but soon after I struggled and slipped off track. I mixed with the wrong crowd, I dabbled with drugs and women, broke laws, went to jail, in and out of courts for 3 years, and buried friends. And when I had enough of the bottom, God pulled me up back to him, I cant describe the longing I had for Jesus. But the felony I was facing is cleared off my record now. Im building my life back up now but keeping God priority, I thank him daily for all he's done and pray that he'll continue to guide me closer to Him. Just received my CDL 2 weeks ago, I work for a trucking company, and will soon have my own truck. I take credit for none of it, if it weren't for Jesus id be who knows where.

I was was raised in church and made a decision at 12 to follow Jesus. My life was radically changed even at that age. Many of my Worldly desires changed and my heart was to lead others to Christ. At 19 I turned away from God mostly because I stopped seeking him and was attracted by the things of the World. I was not living for God at all and went right back to living the way I wanted. We've adopted this word "Backsliding" but you can call it whatever might closely identify with choosing not to live any longer for Christ. I did come back to the faith and I do believe I was saved when I was 12. I also believe when I wasn't serving God that my salvation was in jeopardy and I felt like that inside. I felt cold to the things of God and didn't have any relationship with Him. I also dont think we should disregard feelings. As long as feelings aren't the thing we look to the most and yes hold the scriptures to the highest regard ❤️🙏

The Prodcal Son that went to the hogpen, is a Prime example of a person that has Back slid, thank God he came to himself, Rose up and went back to his Father. Thank God for His Love, Grace and Mercy 😊😊

I believe Christians Can Slip, but they will be called back ..God will test them until their Faith is Strengthened, until they Completely surrender, with complete Trust in God !! I don't believe a Christian will ever fall so far that they reject God though...I do believe Daily prayer, Repentance, and time with God is vital in a believer's life !!! ! 🙌✝️❤️‍🔥👑🗡️🛡️⚔️🕊️🙏❤️❤️❤️

Interesting study. I think a good follow-up would be a teaching on what is a ‘carnal Christian’ and how that person is not a backslider. Most Christians I know (myself included) always lumped those two titles together, when you drift away from the Lord and live in the flesh for a season. The proverbial ‘prodigal son’.

Thats so strange that all the preachers( well most) teach that backsliding applies to anyone.. even at the altar call they say if you have backslided come to the altar for prayer

It's a behavior of falling back into a way against almighty as yuh read He said He will heal Isrealites if they turn back to Him amen.

This is why so many people believe in a wrong way because a lot of people (men or women) are always trying to teach people the bible as if they are bible scholars. Some mean well but are doing more harm than good. FACTS!!!❤😮

A Christian can return to the filth of the world … and bend their heart towards the ways of the world again for a time period. And the Father will come and discipline them. Still a backslider in my opinion. I think you’re making this a lot more difficult than what it needs to be Corey. I think people try to separate Israel from the Church a lil too much sometimes, in many cases where there is no need to
