Apparently it's disconnecting for a lot of people and theirs no fix yet. Not only is it disconnecting, when it's not plugged into USB and just on Bluetooth it's only connected for calls and not audio, please someone reply with a fix.

For me It disconnects when it's wired. I've purchase new USB C cables thinking it was my cable that was faulty. But nope, it disconnects with the new cable as well. Slight movement of the phone, even going over a speed bump or potholes, it'll disconnect. So so annoying. It's not the car, because it's the same on other cars I've used it. I have a galaxy S22 plus so Idk what the problem is.

I think this issue is universal. I'm from India and I'm also facing this issue. Took my car to Authorised Service Center yesterday and they were unable to fix the issue. However, after going through a lot of video on this topic could figure out the issue is most likely with cable you use to connect to car (not referring to wireless connectivity). Looks like the data cable should be of OEM. The cable tends to get damaged soon and we get some good quality of cables. It's more than enough for charging the phone but sadly not really good enough for Android Auto.

Too generic video, not useful. Not even specific to wireless or wired. I think the common issue people are facing is with wire. Even though video is not worth it for me, the comments on this video might help you to fix the issue

Ok so there's a lot of chat and I see many people having this issue.. I live in Perth and I have noticed it happens when I get closer to the CBD. As I understand Android auto connects via wifi not bluetooth. your phone and car head unit also connects via bluetooth for calls and audio. android auto via wifi (obviously for those connecting wirelessly.) for data and graphics so your maps gets mirrored on the car head unit. So from my experience its an issue with dropping wifi connection. And yes I am running the latest updated software on the phone and head unit.

Finally worked. Tried 4 different cables including new ones. Brand new Baseus, Boat cables didn't work. Old boat cable I used daily for charging didn't work. Finally out of frustration took out my Samsung charger cable to the car and... It worked consistently during my testing. Nothing else worked - - - including chanigng Android auto app setting to always turn ON, mentioned as solution in another video. The Samsung usbc incidentally is the thinnest cable. It isn't cable damage in my opinion since I used a brand new one too. It may be how manufacturers are implementing data standards. Maybe. I'm no expert. Anyway Samsung cable with Samsung phone seemed to work for me. So far.

See my problem is I'm PHYSICALLY CONNECTED via cable but once I plug in it automatically tries to connect me via Bluetooth so it will toggle the Bluetooth on and off. If I turn Bluetooth off, it automatically turn it back on. Even when unpaired and device is deleted from the vehicle, no change.

This is really not a fix and more of a checklist of things that we've all probably tried before to unsuccessfully fix the ongoing problem that was seemingly introduced in Android 11. Never had disconnections on my old Android 10 phone.

Mine disconnects when I get around certain businesses like a car dealership, or a downtown area. I'll even have it connected via USB and it still disconnects. It's very frustrating when you're jamming out and it does that

All the advice in this video is good, but it does not cover the most common reason. AA worked just fine for me for three years, then it started disconnecting randomly. I finally fixed it! Its not your car. Its not your phone. It IS the cable. Get a cable that is USB 3.1 Gen 2 compliant and capable of 10Gbps data transfer.

They want us all to be safe with hands free...my 23 silvey has 1509 miles on it and it completely boots me off music and maps while driving making me try to reconnect it while driving. Its a huge safety issue if ya ask me. Either Bluetooth or usb it happens. Then i just oress android auto again and it reconnects after a minute. New cable tried as well. Pretty frustrating when they tell you to do a factory reset on it when IT JUST CAME FROM THE FACTORY!!

I am using mine in wireless mode and it always disconnects at the same places in my town. By my wife's work and by the zoo. It happens pretty much all the time with such a consistency that I consider that as a given when closing in to those places. My guess is it has something to do with other wireless networks.

I have a samsung 22 and a 2006 silverado with a updated stero that has android auto via USB c. It works for a Lil bit and kept getting disconnected and I brought new cables but now it doesn't work at all. It's basically a normal $800 hands free stero that can only do blue tooth now. Good job android.

I'm glad I found this thread. Thought it was just me. It was working fine and now it disconnects and I have touch the android auto option on car for it to work again and then it again disconnects. Checklist hasn't helped. I bought a brand new cable and tried it and that did not help so it isn't quality of cable either. May switch to car play. :/

I always getting connections timeout, and if I'm using map or listening to music in my phone it all stop and I have to go to settings and reconnect again, and keep timeout happen over and over, even if I connect with USB, what you think the solution for this issue? Thank you

SOLUTION: For me (2017 VW Golf) go to plsy store. Uninstall updates. Go to Apps on phone. Android Auto. Force stop. Storage. Delete cache. Delete data. Reboot phone. Simply restart by attaching to car. Works for me. Good luck.

If it's the car, what could be the issue?

I am currently facing the same issue. I tried different cables, including OEM ones, even tried 4 phones but the issue remained. I also noticed that it disconnects when sometimes i use horn (dont judge me, I am from India and once just cannot drive without horns). There is some electrical issue, maybe a loose connection so when horn is pressed it draws more power through a common wiring harness which peovides power to the USB, resulting in voltage drop tp the usb and disconnecting phone.
