People claim to have gotten a job with this online certificate alone, which is pretty mind blowing.

But is a Google IT Support certificate really worth it?

I feel like this course is for people that think they are interested in I.T or they plan to go to community college or WGU and want a small head start on learning. This certificate is only suppose to get you entry level help desk jobs and maybe even apple or AT&T retail jobs just for experience. If you wanna really move up in I.T getting other certifications will help like CompTIA A+ & Network + but mostly it’s also learning how to sell yourself on your resume & interviews. Also research ways to give yourself experience to add on your resume jobs want to see effort & confidences.

I'm honestly getting really fed up with tuition fees for university degrees. Some people don't even have the resources to afford studying a bachelors. These training certs and alternative paths provided by employers are massive blessings for everyone who wants to grow.

I saw this video today after not landing a job after hundreds of applications. I have 2 years in tech support already, one of which was tech support for Apple. Even so, I can't seem to land an interview. So I decided to get this cert real fast. It took me one day, if you already have a background in tech its incredibly easy. Do yourself a favor and just lock in for 8 hours one day and its done forever. Ill let you guys know if it seems to help my job search at all.

I've been building computers as a hobby since I was a teen, and very familiar with the field, but never got a degree in tech, and instead graduated with a bachelors in another field that I did not truly want only becaused I felt pressured to go to college right out of HS. Thank you for this.

I’m getting myself lined up! I spent 6 months learning c# but I want more knowledge! It was scatterbrained but I didn’t finish but plan to go the python route later! However going back to the beginning will give me the confidence I need for my new journey in tech!

I’m 3 days into it and I’m on course week 3 lol it literally depends on what you know! It’s competency based as well so you can advanced past things you know that’s why people are able to advance so fast! I’m also 29 and have been building computers and trouble shooting since I was 13

One other channel also recommended doing home labs which fits with the suggestion from this YouTuber to create and manage a portfolio, which you could do if you have a computer, and drive space and some money to invest, you could do some home labs which demonstrate skill and then link that to your LinkedIn bio or on your resume if you buy a domain or create your own channel. Not that I’m the expert, I’m also looking to move up from pizza delivery to IT, but I graduate tomorrow and I do have the A+ and Network+ so I would actually consider supplementing what I have on my resume already with this certification and see if that helps.

Well... I have a lot of IT experience, and some cybersecurity experience. I also work fulltime. A benefit of the class is it's well-structured, and easy to follow. I completed the 1st module in 14 hours, and I just started the 2nd. I know some who said they completed in 4-5 days.

The course is really laid out for non-IT people with little computer experience. I can see someone like this taking 4-5 months. A bonus is that a lot of this is in common with the CompTIA Sec+, and upon completion, we get 30% off that exam. I see it as structured training for the Sec+ and the CISSP at a much cheaper cost. My 2¢...

Great suggestion on just trying out the other Google certs there! 👏 Also, Coursera has many other courses of all kinds that can be done while doing this course (for professional or personal/hobby purposes).

I started the course in June and finished it 3 weeks ago. I have a full time job so that's why it took me a while since balancing work and studying is challenging. I'm reviewing everything and going to work on my resume now.

I have 0 experience in IT outside of knowing how to put a pc together lol. That being said I've been doing the course for about 4 hours and I'm done with the first 6 weeks of the course. A lot of the stuff in the fundamentals section you'll probably be either somewhat or very familiar with. The most difficult part was probably networking as it seemed to move by so fast but the information is good and if you really watch the videos and rewatch when needed I truly think anyone can do this cert.
