This is the only cert I've got. Using it and focusing my CV on the skills from my previous job like customer services and logical trouble shooting steps, I was able to land an IT job and with a year of IT experience I'm now working in IT support at Amazon/AWS.

I got the certification back in 2017 when it launched and then went on to become a system admin for Microsoft and netsuite products. I'm also the primary contact for our vendor management and work with a team of developers around the world for our website. I do some powerapps development. I have a bachelor's in business.

Immediately after getting the certification I got a help desk job at a monitor company and eventually became a manager for their technical support department.

Prior to the certification I was already a writer for a video game website creating tech articles about monitors gadgets computer parts so having the certification helped me back up what I was already talking about.

I passed the comptia A+ (late 2023)...some of the questions on the google it support certificate are way harder than anything on the A+

Thank you for your honest review. I liked the content you created. I live in Mexico and I just enroll on the Google IT through Coursera. I have been working as a bilingual customer service representative for over 15 years and I want to switch to the Information Technology field. I been attracted to computers and working in computers since before the Y2K. I remember going in high school and taking computer classes and saying I want to become an ethical hacking. But recently I decided that I must make the jump and stop thinking about, so that's how I ended on the Google IT. I was doing the CompTIA ITF + fundamental objectives on YouTube, but I decided to change it to the Google it. So I hope this would get me a second job. I don't want to leave my current job since it's well paid and I know for an entry level in IT here in Mexico will be way less than, so I hope to get an opportunity with a job offer soon. I'm currently enrolled in the Google IT Support Professional Certificate program, on Coursera.

I must confess, its mind blowing.

For me, it's worth the time & every ounce of investments put into it.

I was in doubt on if to enroll for the course, as I was searching to equip myself with the requisite IT foundation, after watching this video about two months ago, I was able to decide on enrolling to the course.

Already done with the first course in the series of 5.

I am also doing this certification course and I'll be done with the 1st part ( course) today. I'm hearing it'll be hard to find a job with just certificates even with certs like A+ etc but I'll worry about that part once I finish the course. I'm currently on course 3. I've started applying for jobs already. i finished the google cybersecurity certificate a couple of months ago.

I've passed and certified as a Google Professional Cloud Architect. But unable to find a job because I'm near 50yrs old. Maybe you need to do a preface on that. lol. Zero IT experience for higher certificates might not be ideal.

Hi Lucy, thank you for your very informative videos! So helpful for someone like me looking at ways into the industry with some tech experience but nothing to boast about. I want to start a course on Coursera but im stuck between the Google It Support Cert or IBM's Information Technology (IT) and Cloud Fundamentals Specialization. For someone looking to learn more about IT and eventually help me land an entry level job, which of these courses would you recommend? I plan to take both at some point but I'm not sure which one will be more helpful for starting out.
