Or they lie and say they smell weed. Then they call for a K9. Then the K9 handler gets the dog to hit or lies and says the dog hit and they rip your car apart as punishment for knowing your rights.

You shouldn't say no or yes. If you say no the cop will think you don't mind letting him search, and if you say yes, the cop will think that as an approval for him to search your car. So just say that you dont consent to a search.

I prefer, “Nah, if it’s all the same to you, officer, I’m in a little bit of a hurry and would prefer to get on my way as soon as possible.” For a voluntary breathalyzer submission, I prefer, “you know, officer, I don’t trust those things, I’ve seen too many TV shows.” Much more non-combative and a whole lot less annoying to the officer.
