As a irl zoologist who has social anxiety, clinical anxiety and depression, i feel connected to Newt very much. I got bullied for being weird, and love animals very much. Animals keep me going and animal science fascinates me. He is also the kind of guy i wish to meet, sweet, nice and caring, as opposed to the rowdy, bull headed, tough guys, that speaks loud with actions. Story of our lives…
(Edit: wow, really surprised this got so much attention. Now that i am older, i am glad to know more ppl empathize with my feelings. I felt so alone when i was young with my unusual passion for animals and like newt been told its a useless hobby. Glad i discovered zoology and am doing wt i love instead of being stuck in a desk job. And thank u for everyone for empathizing, and at least sympathizing with my feelings)
(Edit 2: also really hope newt stays being the main character and not to change him like other stereotypical male protagonists in the media, cuz we need such characters portraying reality and realistic characters, other than developing him while sticking to his core character. Glad that us Hufflepuffs r better represented)

Newt Scamander. A brother. A wizard. A friend. A magazooalagist and animal lover. Why do strange creatures love him so much. There isn't any. Only blinket people. He tries his hardest to fit in but his quirky personality gets in the way in an anoying way. His whole life's work is to give the care and welfare of his magical creatures. If he had his way creatures would roam around freely with him. My favorite creature is the nifler. I love shinny things till this day I do. That would be my Patronus. The nifler. His suit case is like a huge empire inside. A home for all his love ones. I think we'll see more of his creatures in FB3. Can't wait till 2020 for it to be released. Thanks for sharing my friend. Why do people say that Hufflepuff is a bad house? I mean, we got Newt, Tonks and Helga Hufflepuff was just sweet and caring.

As a Hufflepuff knowing there's a portrayal of someone like Newt as Hufflepuff is just fascinating.

I used to have bad case of social anxiety and a bit of depression in the past. Now I still have them sometimes but not that often.

Watching the movie made me realize that you don't need to change yourself, just do what you want to do and do it right, be the way you are because it's the best thing you can do for yourself.

I used to envy those who can speak to others with ease, those who are outgoing etc. But after pondering, I know I'm not envying them because I want to be like them, I just want to be happy the way they are. I'm happy now with my own way, no need to be happy with someone else's way. We have different views and feelings, we are all unique and of course different in the most beautiful ways.

I love how this transitioned. It started out as this happy compilation of momma Newt, the Newt Scammander who is smiling and happy and knows where he fits in life.
Then it changes. It turns into this depiction of a man who is being thrown into the midst of something he does not want to be in, a war he feels he has no part in. He has been ripped away from his place in the world, away from his world, and put into a situation where everything is dark and dangerous. He’s scared at the end. It’s not right.
It’s not want he wants to be doing.
It’s not where he should be.
And he knows that he can’t go anyplace else.
