How powerful is Newt Scamander?

Newt is undoubtedly one of THE world's leading Magizoologists. He is the younger brother of Theseus Scamander who was once Head Auror at the British Ministry of Magic. During his time at Hogwarts young Newt quickly became Albus Dumbledore’s favorite student. The humble but brave Hufflepuff showed us many times that he is an incredibly talented and strong wizard. Although he is sometimes underestimated by people due to his rather reserved and quiet nature. He successfully manages countless dangerous situations such as rescuing his brother from a prison guarded by a giant Manticore or even repelling some of Grindelwald’s direct attacks. Newt received multiple offers by the Ministry to join the aurors. When he refused, the ministry still pushed him to participate in the hunt for Grindelwald because they knew how much of an asset the younger Scamander brother would be for the mission. But among Newt’s wide range of magical skills, one sticks out the most: He is especially knowledgeable when it comes to magical beasts. Not to mention, the dude defened himself against grindelwald once. He was quickly overwhelmed, but still. He blocked like 3 spells from the guy, and people give bellatrix a lot of props for blocking a single spell from Dumbledore

If you wanna truly know how useful Scamander was, he even helped the Golden Trio through his books. In Deathly Hallows, when the trio visited Xenophilius Lovegood's house, they saw a "Crumple-Horned Snorkack's horn", or so Xenophilius thought, but Hermione knew that it was actually an Erumpent horn which could "explode at the slightest touch"! Hermione said that she knew this because "There's a description in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", and if the trio had not known this, they'd probably not survive the explosion when "Xenophilius's Stunning Spell soared across the room and hit the Erumpent horn"...

But yeah, just a little insight on Scamander's knowledge

He's not weird, but he's very professional in his work. People will look at him weird because they don't understand his work. If I met Newt, I would love to learn with him and try to interact with the creatures he takes care of. He's very kind and his skills are really cool!!

He's constantly shown to be different than normal wizards. His absolute interest in Magical Beasts causes him to think differently than others which leads him to come up with solutions than no one would even begin to think of. That's his biggest strength.

Newt is also a great example of Hufflepuff's taking those who are kind and loyal.
Though he is brave, his sense of loyalty and kindness is the reason he goes out of his way to help others, not pure bravery.

I instantly fell in love with Newt in the first movie because he is so much like me.. akward with people, shy, special interest. I would be happy to see more of Newt travelling around, helping animals, with non of that Grindelwald - Dumbledore - evil wizard stuff.

he is really underestimated because imagine how skilled he has to be in what he does to successfully deal with all those magical beasts he deals with and still have his whole body visibly intact? knowledge, agility, speed, a lot of things he has so he's able to deal with even quite dangerous creatures without harming himself. Pretty sure he would be able to beat some above average aurors with his skills and thinking.

My favorite thing about newt is he was present in a loooot of hp media before we even knew he was actually significant. For instance, i just played the chamber of secrets on gba and his card is able to be collected in that game. Many other examples of things like that, such as him being on the marauders map.

One theory I really love about Newt is that there are certain beasts that he specifically did not mention in his Fantastic Beasts book because he wanted to protect those beasts from Wizards who would abuse them if they knew about them.

The Fantastic Beast movies were at their best when it was just Newt explaining magical creatures and Jacob being fascinated.

The fact that he alone suspected, later caught, and unveiled Grinderwald (sorry if wrong spelling) didn't even count into his power level? Nobody but Dumbledore was up to the task of opposing Grinderwald, except this one timid dude.

I think this movie series would have been a lot more popular if they focused more on him being ( whatever weird wizard name for a zoologist is ) and not him the guy who has to save the world
