When you said "I'm proud of you." I broke down in tears and ugly cried. I feel dumb saying this because you don't even know who I am not do you care, but I have NEVER genuinely heard someone just tell me they are *proud* of ME. Not just my grades, not my efforts, me. It hurts I never had a good, stable father figure to tell me this, or a mother who wasn't too exhausted working 11+ hour jobs to support me and my older sisters to talk to me more. To tell me I've made her proud. I feel selfish for wanting their approval so badly but it's just the way I feel. Thanks for this man. Gonna keep replaying it lol.

I dont know why did i search it up today but i just needed to hear this. No matter how much i have been trying people always made me feel that i was never enough. Good grades?Good at art? Good at dancing? Can write poetries? I always wanted everything perfect. I was tired of this perfection, academic validation. But out of all this the real me only wanted to hear someone say they were proud of me.
I never felt enough. I no doubt love myself. But sometimes it does feel empty when u realise nobody's there at the end.
