This part is heartbreaking. Anderson was Shepherds father figure and they finished the fight together.

The game should have ended right there, at that scene. Good destruction ending where non-reaper synthetics don't die.

Honestly, I thought the game was gonna end right here and it should have. You finally defeat the Reapers, united a Galaxy as one and even though there were heavy casualties, you still won. Anderson's last thoughts, his last visions and his last memories, are of relief. After all the sacrifices, after all the pain, it was worth something in the end.

Cut to the ending song of Mass Effect 1 during the credits. That's a legendary way to end a series.

Anyone who thinks Mass Effect 3 sucks is wrong. Regardless of the ending, I cried more in ME3 than any other media. I cried when Mordin sacrificed himself to correct the Genophage and save the Krogan, when Thane died with his wish for me, when Legion said "Keelah se'lai" and sacrificed himself to give all Geth life and bring peace to the Quarians and Geth. I cried here when Anderson said "I'm proud of you." The last words of this great father figure. And finally, I cried when I saw the ending, because regardless if it was disappointing, it meant that my adventure had ended, there were no more stories to be told for Shepard.

Mass Effect as a whole is an emotional masterpiece. Nothing before it has affected me so emotionally, and nothing since. I can't help but restart a new campaign, right at the start of ME1, after the ending of Mass Effect 3, because I need to see those people I lost in ME3 again. In the end, you care about the characters in the game as much as people in real life. Legion, Mordin, Thane, Anderson, all felt like real friends that you lost. And that is a powerful feeling.

The whole scene was done exceptionally well, with music that fit perfectly; emotional, but not overdone. My number one favorite part of the ME series.
