A few months after I got out of the army. I was invited to a Gala in Las Vegas 2013 where I was lucky enough to meet Tom Norris and his friend Mike Thornton i was lucky enough to hold both of their medal of honors. Both great men very down-to-earth. There were a lot of Medal of Honor recipients at that Gala and I got to spend about a week hanging out with some of the coolest people on the planet

I cannot imagine how he must have felt as an "air guy" being on the ground. Terrifying!

They really took "no one's left behind" to the whole new level.
BTW, how he deciphered those "golf" codes 10/10 is beyond me. I would have ended up in another river for sure.

These people are all living legends. In this time period, Uncommon Valor is exceptionally common.
So much respect to the Vietnamese commando that volunteered for the rescue. What a badass.

There is no greater love than he who lays down his life for his his fellow man. Among brothers in arms they are the most respected and honored.

People sadly ask why so many soldiers would risk their lives to rescue one or two men trapped behind enemy lines. I can only imagine what would keep a person from doing everything they're capable of to save them, and didn't know any soldiers that didn't feel the same way.

Navy SEALs are America's best of the best in rescuing the pilot in Vietnam battling against the North Vietnamese Army, eleven Navy SEALs who fought and died like warriors in saving the pilot's life is a timeless form of honor, courage and commitment to the mission

I admire his ability to stay calm after everything. Dude even reported on the enemies in his surroundings. That's nerves of steel.

I just cant explain how much respect i have for men like this. This to me is a real true tough guy! God bless these men and there families. I know we are years past this war but a story like this should be told in American war history all over the country. Im happy i came across this story! 👍🏻

I thought the video was about to start with:
"This video is sponsored by the cold war." I was quite concerned.

Whenever he said at the end that the lone soldier said to the the reporter “an American soldier was down of course I’ll do it again “ lit an extremely burning fire of inspiration in my core like I could physically feel it despite all the chaos this man’s been through exhaustion and futility he had to endure regardless if death was the outcome he’d risk everything to come back an rescue his fellow Conrad

Hambleton had top secret access to strategic air command and nuclear weapons knowledge, he was no ordinary man

You have to do a video on Randy Shughart and Gary Gordon. Both were US Special Forces Soldiers who Volunteered to go in to certain death to rescue a downed piolt. Both died, but the piolt lived.

To hear the real story read Tom Norris/Mike Thornton’s book, or the interview jocko willink did with Mike and Tom. Very heroic men.

Then: "An American was down in enemy territory. Of course i'd do It again"
Today: "Up to 40.000 americans are still stranded in Afghanistan"
