Wish there was a way to increase this time to even just 10 minutes. Sometimes I need to take a dump and it shows away after 5.

Why is this the answer? Why does technology only make it more complicated and make us have to work more? It’s just used to monitor us now. If I have a 10 minute convo with a coworker about something work related and I’m shown “away”, management perceives this as if I took a break. If I have to take a dump after, I’ll either have to take a laptop with me just to keep the online status showing or I get in trouble. Sick of this monitoring bullshit. We are all going to be in psych wards for “retirement”. Being monitored all our lives like this these days is horrible for us

Don't bother trying, this is software for the customer (your employer). They want to monitor you. Do what actually works that people are recommending. Don't fill up a chat box or text document with spaces though, that will end badly over time. Just go to your desktop click on your background and then place something heavy on the spacebar. Done ✅

I just select my own name for chat within Teams and place my mouse on the space bar. This way you will always be shown as available.

It’s so annoying my job gets slow at times but my supervisor expects for my teams to always show AVAILABLE. Even if no work available. It’s her way of knowing I’m glued to the fckin seat. Smh

None of these things work. That is a bad feature. We should be able to control that. So I’m constantly running back Every dam 4 minutes wiggling my mouse .

You have to add a teams meeting to your outlook Calendar call yourself/ join meeting and change status to online

Set a meeting for yourself it will show In a call. After this change the status manually to Available.
Since the meeting is running in background your status won't be changed unless you do it !

If you have a mouse, place it on your watch, as the watch ticks and moves around it will show your mouse is being moved

I just use mouse mover and set it to make teams thinks that the cursor is moving inside it

None of these work, doesn’t matter if I set status to available all day it will change the minute I am not touching my computer. Also last time I was watching a meeting recording on my laptop to go over the info discussed and even that put me on away… it’s ridiculous

Just place the mouse on your analog wrist watch. Hope it will work for all. 😂
