Teams - Change your status in Teams | Duration and Status Message

Teams will indicate your status. This is very handy if you want to let coworkers and people know when you’re busy, do not want to be disturbed, or are away from your desk. Teams will sometimes automatically set the status. If you are in a meeting, Teams will show you as busy. Start presenting in the meeting, and Teams will indicate you are presenting. You can explicitly set your status yourself, go to your profile at the top of Teams and select one from the list. We will also look at using the duration feature and setting a status message.

It is a bit weird that Microsoft teams developers did not think to include shift timing in status! This would had been simple and so much useful for people across other teams to know and expect when someone could be online.

I use 2 email programs in Windows 10 but also had windows Mail that was changed to Outlook (new) about a year ago. I don't check it very often but today I could not use it because it seemed that it wanted me to say if I wanted Teams or not. I have no need for it but it seemed that my only option was to say yes to the Free version. I didn't do anything yet. How can I just view any emails in Outlook? Thanks in advance.

My question is do employers have the ability to customize teams so that employees cannot override their status defaulting to away?

Hi have a question . There was an excel file in team a group of us where working on and Paine how the data info got un lined . Meaning the name of and address don’t match anymore some how the file got distorted. How can that happen ? Can we sort with out causing an issue and delete lines

When editing status message, how do I enter more than one line? When I press Enter while editing, it does do a carriage return, but once saved, it puts everything on to one line and has removed the carriage return

So there is no way to make the automatic status for an event on my calendar have the status of "be right back"? I would like to set this status for my lunch, instead of "Busy". Or, even better would be if the teams away status could reflect the event name on the calendar.

Hi Chris, any idea why my teams never shows in a meeting for me. Even if I join a meeting it says in a call but never shows in a meeting. Please help.

Weird issue - I Can adjust status that precedes "Out of Office" to available, busy, but cannot remove the status "out of office"

I set status message and now I can’t change status from the drop down. I can only set it from taskbar
