I have been a fan since you first got rex. I know this is probably very late, but I still wanted to send this, I have also seen many people suggest suing the security company because they are at fault for not notifying you. Again, I might be too late with all of this but I hope this helps.

I am so sorry — Emily and Ed, you have brought so much happiness, kindness, and education to so many people, I couldn't think of any two people less deserving of such an act. I don't have any reptiles or live locally to support the store/zoo directly, but I hope this thanks puts a tiny dent in the damage that was done. I'm so sorry this happened to you guys. If I can make a suggestion, you can invest in a drop safe, one that can be bolted into the ground so it can't be easily taken. Additionally, if you are using any padlocks that are from Master Lock, I highly recommend changing them. Master Lock's products are very easy to break with minimal effort. I can't give any good recommendations for an alternative, since it's really something you should research yourself, but I have had good experience with Squire Locks in the past. Again, I'm sorry this happened to you, but I am so grateful none of the animals were harmed.

My husband and I were held up at knife point in our place of business several years ago. It’s ok to feel violated, and uncomfortable. It’s ok to take some time being extra careful.. I’m so sorry this happened to you!
