Ed is solidifying himself as chaotic evil, and I’m all for it.

Golden egg should be a silkworm. A safe bug they can then feed to a critter. They get an "oh eew!" moment and then fun feeding experience.

We've known Emily does educational programs and we know she often works with kids, but this is the first time we have REALLY seen her interact with kids. Honestly, she is just so amazing at what she does, and she is so good with the

**Suggestions for Halloween:**
1.) Turn all the lights either really low, or orange and maybe purple, and place candy bowls in front of some enclosures for trick or treating!
2.) As you have been working on, do a nighttime flashlight tour with no lights on at all!
3.) Make the zoo into a haunted house! Cobwebs to crawl under or step over, creepy tunnels to go through, fun spooky lights, the whole 9 yards!

I love that the kids were sad about there being nothing in the golden egg, but when Emily mentioned tricking other kids they were so excited.

Ed: puts empty eggs in with the rest of the eggs.
Emily: No, that is so mean
Also Emily: hides the coveted golden egg with nothing inside in an unreachable enclosure to pysch kids out not once but twice.

They could put a worm in the gold egg. It would be like "ew you got a worm", but then suprise! You can feed the worm to one of the lizards or turtles.

I honestly love the message that the golden egg and the small eggs having the biggest prizes in this situation teaches kids, they work together. Don’t always expect the most out of the most appealing option, don’t always look for the “shiner” options in life just because you think it looks appealing. The smallest things bring the greatest joy in life not the biggest or the prettiest.

I love how everyone's disappointment about the golden easter egg being empty was IMMEDIATLY dissolved by the idea of hiding it for someone else to be tricked.

For the 4th of July, you should almost do a BBQ event or something and have like a mini fair outside with reptile-themed games that raise awareness for conservation. They were going to set up a nice outside area I don't know if that got finished.

You can put the leftover chocolate bunnies in the Adoption Island and put "care instructions" with them 🤣

What could be good for next year's egg hunt, have a staff member with a bag of eggs casually placing eggs out while walking around. This way as people find eggs, the new eggs are being placed for others still searching.

You’re telling me that Emily didn’t immediately claim all the leftover CHOCOLATE bunnies for herself? My poor heart can’t take the shock

so this is a question just because i'm curious after watching this video: do y'all have a lot of ~elderly~ zoo visitors? i know that older generations tend to be more fearful of reptiles, simply because of all the fearmongering and myths surrounding them, but i did notice that there were some older members of the crowd, and that peaked my interest! i know how important it is to educate our younger generations about the realities of reptiles, but everyone deserves to learn!

I think next year it'd be cool to do an "Eat with nocturnal animals Ramadan meal" folks could come in after the sun goes down and break their fast and help feed some night-time animals!

Maybe you can do hunts for different age groups at a time to avoid the big kid advantage, and probably limit 1 hunt per kid to ensure everyone's gets a chance.
