Kidd Video was an American Saturday morning cartoon created by DIC Enterprises in association with Saban Productions. The series originally ran on NBC from 1984 to 1985.

Kidd Video was one of the most popular Saturday morning cartoons in its day but it only lasted 2 seasons in the US and was gone.

But the same could not be said for another part of the world where Kidd Video the band had merchandise and a tour.

Back in the 80s kids getting trapped in fictional worlds was a real issue. Dungeons and Dragons, Kid Video, and Captain N. Need story, just kidnap some teens and trap them in another rest of the series trying go home.

Until the internet came along I only knew one other person who remembered this show. Everybody thought we were making it up.

I LOVED this show growing up. I can't tell you how many times even decades later I randomly think about the line, "Aye yi yi, we look like . . . cartoons" and giggle to myself.

OMG this show was my freaking JAM! I was addicted to MTV at the time so this cartoon was perfect. Man I miss Saturday morning cartoons.

The theme song to Kidd Video is literally on a music mix flash drive, in my car stereo, as I write this, because high tech just turns me on. ❤️

Oh my god. I remember we sneaked to the back stage when they came to my city in Israel. Didn’t know they were only popular here. Lol.

I'll never forget kid video. One of the reasons I love this channel is it restores my faith that I'm not crazy and the only person left that remembers some of this stuff

I gotta tell you, I never missed an episode of Kidd Video. Man, I wish I still had my old self recorded video tapes, knowing these things are probably lost to time now...

KIDD VIDEO is an AWESOME Cartoon and Thank you Toy Galaxy for reviewing this 80s Gem! I am shocked that you didn't mention Robbie Rist, who was already an established actor. I use to record their songs on cassette tape, and never knew they released an album til ebay came along.. I had such a huge crush on Carla. Kidd Video(the band) should have been bushed more so in the USA. LONG LIVE KIDD VIDEO!

Until I found the full version of the theme, I never realized Robbie Rist was main vocals on like half the song. I remember loving the show. It'd be nice to find complete episodes in decent quality someday.

I remember this show. It was on right after The Great Space Coaster. Now I'm going to have both those theme songs stuck in my head all day. Kids today will never know the joy of waking up way too early on Saturday morning, and channel surfing all 4 channels, watching the color bars, waiting for one of them to start its broadcasting day. I remember the first show to come on the air Saturday mornings was an old B&W Robin Hood show from the 50's.

Definite blast from the past for me...remember when they were featured in the Back to Next Saturday preview. Now that song has been ear worm stuck in my head for almost 40 years.

Dammit, I spent decades trying to get that theme song out of my head. Thanks for putting it back in Toy Great video. The added vintage commercials are insane.

I used to love this show. Now I'm just jealous of that kid's vintage '78 Subaru Brat.

"From my radio, to my video"!
I used to look forward to the actual music videos, from the Kidd Video band! I remember how catchy some of them were. Yeah, that was a really cool show and a pretty original concept, at the time.
Thanks D.L. for this video!
