I must say Bengali adore and respect women, they gave equal rights just like Anglo Indian culture, The British loved theatre, music and novel was invented in Britain. That’s why Calcutta was the capital of British India for a long time

1. If you are a Bengali you can't be anything less than a Physicist, Chemist, Doctor, Engineer, Economist, Lawyer... If all else fails, at least English Honours.

2. Poetry in your blood. Every Bengali goes through a phase in life when he starts writing poetry!

3. We don't add fish in our vegetables. We actually add the fish head and the fish gut.

4. We don't eat Poori Subji. We eat Luchi Torkari.

5. Rossogolla is not the only sweet. There are dozens of other varieties. Rossogolla would actually lie in a corner if you go to a sweet shop.

6. Our food habit is not complete without mentioning the "Panta Bhat"- leftover rice soaked in water that turns tart. Most Bangalis these days think it to be a sign of poverty and frown upon the name of it.

7. Bengalis can't do business unless it is an invention of his own. We are too much into what is ethically right and what is wrong.

8. A part of the youth will take up Krishna, Shiva, Durga, Kali and follow their teachings and of other Swamijis born in our country. The other part would become atheists and take up Lenin and Marx.

9. We are in a strong, silent cultural competition with the "BANGALS"( Bangladeshis) that pour in from every hole in the border.

10. We always keep our Country first and being Bangali is secondary. Don't confuse us with the Bangladeshis.
